Back in the era before Nashville, Tennessee merged with Davidson County and became Metropolitan Nashville, the city schools had no busses. Now that was a lot greener than today’s idiotic zones and fleets of busses no matter how the busses are powered.
Students got to school by walking or riding a bike, (neighborhood schools), taking a city bus, or being taken to school in a car but it was very often a “hookup” (carpool) of parents rotating driving responsibilities for two, three, or four families. Back then there were low crime rates, many stay-at-home mothers, a less-spoiled generation of children. In that era too, there were lots of frequent city bus routes. Yes, it is a bygone era but any way you slice it, it was much better for the environment than today’s expensive plans.
“Back in the era before Nashville, Tennessee merged with Davidson County and became Metropolitan Nashville, the city schools had no busses.”
I remember those days. That was before all the Yankees and Californians and Illegals moved in.
Too many children, parents, too, are fragile wallflowers today. Snowflakes.
Criminals & pervs today? Eliminate them, quickly, harshly and permanently.
