If you think it's sad to live having commonsense, being security conscious, and taking precautions to prevent yourself, and your family from becoming a victim, then I'd say that in this day and age, you're the delusional one.
Wow.. you are locked and loaded for attack. Sad in as sad to live without trust. That is truly sad and someone obviously destroyed that for you. That is sad because it destroys your personal peace.
