The government has declared us to be “the enemy”—no point in making it easier for them to identify us before they decide to move to “active measures”.
This B$ against those of us, who declared who we are via our bumper stickers came to a reality 5 elections/20 years ago.
I was retired and doing consulting and drove an OJ Simpson Bronco with bumper stickers for our local, state Republicans
and a US Navy Bumper stickers. Nothing radical.
My wife and I helped one of our sons, his wife and their new baby to move into their new home in the E. Bay. My wife and I had finished our share of moving and were coming back to our home. It was getting dark, and I pulled off the main hiway to ask my wife what she wanted for dinner from a fast food on the way home. I phoned in the order and put the phone down went to the stop light, stopped and pulled onto the main road after a legal California right turn on red.
Before I got out of the merging lane, I got a siren and a revolving and flashing lights from a Female Chp. She was claiming that I ran the red light as my hungry, tired and angry wife pulled up an ask the CHP what was wrong.
The CHP said that I had ran the red light. After about 3 minutes, she told me to go ahead and warned my wife to watch her language.
Two days later I stopped in our town to allow a pedestrian to cross the street. As the pedestrian started to walk away, a local female cop hit her siren and yelled at me to pull over. As I was doing that, the female pedestrian yelled at the cop that she failed to stop the guy in front of me who rolled through the stop sign and stopped me after I stopped and let the bozo go through. Turned out that lady was a lawyer. The female cop told me to go ahead after the female lawyer gave me her card.
A few days later my wife and I were headed for a vacation in SW Oregon. Before we got there, I was pulled over by another female Trooper on 101. She and my wife got into a heated discussion, resulting in me being told to slow down and warned about my wife’s tongue.
We stopped in Eureka to say hi to Tube bender. We told him about my 3 recent traffic stops. He asked if I had any conservative bumper stickers on my Bronco.
My wife said, “He will not have any stickers when we pull out of your parking lot.”
We removed them and decades later, still no tickets and no bumper stickers.
We can only imagine what would happen today while driving a vehicle with conservative stickers on it.
Because you, and many o this and similar boards, are not typical. Not by a long shot. Remember, half the population is below average intelligence.
If everyone claps and says Jao Bai-din is great, the Democrats have no idea where to steal votes.
Why?
Personally, I feel like this is Germany in 1934 where I am a Jew.
After I graduated high school I started seeing the subtle manipulation more. Starting in the 1990s younger generations were told what they were supposed to think and believe, that they thought and believed it, far more than Gen X ever was. Opposing viewpoints and histories in classrooms were ignored as if they did not exist. The ideals associated with their generation are the ones imposed on them, not their own, their parent's or part of larger changes like civil rights. Gen Z and Gen Alpha went along with it, it does not mean they believe in all of it.
I’m a contractor. I do projects for banks. Hell no I don’t discuss politics at work and have nothing visible that would speak to my beliefs. I’m even a registered Independent. It would be extremely easy for Banks or others to just stop hiring me.
What about the canvasser for Marco Rubio getting the crap beat out of him?
Keep my mouth shut at work - other than that pretty open with anyone other than some (though not all) my wife’s academic colleagues.
