Re-posting in compliance with FR rules (we regret the error) Last time I posted with the title lifted from the URL as opposed to the Daily Mail's posted article, which is QUITE long. Got busted. Excerpt follows: "The teenage gunman who killed two people and injured seven others at a school in St. Louis has been named as a former student, it was revealed tonight. Orlando Harris, 19, was dressed entirely in black when he entered his former high school on Monday morning - shooting dead a female teacher and a teenage girl before being killed by police. He burst into the Central Visual and Performing Arts High School shortly after 9am on Monday and reportedly screamed: 'You're all going to die'. He was shot dead by police inside the school. Seven guards were inside the building at the time, but Michael Sack, commissioner of St. Louis police, refused to say at a Monday night press conference how he got inside. Sack said he did not want 'to give a blueprint' to other would-be gunmen. "

Hopefully this corrects my posting error. The Daily Mail is notorious for making the headline the first paragraph of an article.
Lesson learned ;-)
Inside job?
No, idiots, you identify how he got in and you ELIMINATE THE SECURITY HOLE AND ADVERTISE AS MUCH so there are no future killers.
How he got it you mean?
Yeah, not addressed in the article. This was supposedly a “hardened” location.
Yeah, this story disappears immediately.
If he was a former student, is it inconceivable that he knew a present student who opened the door for him to enter?
“Orlando Harris was a Black male, according to police.”
He is still is a black male, just a really well behaved one now...
I wonder if the girl was a female he liked and the teacher was in the way of him?
I worked for a suburban school system for a while last year. My duties required me to enter school buildings. Before I got my ID I had to be buzzed into the buildings. I know they had cameras but I suspect that I could have gotten a gun into the buildings if I wanted to.
These white kids shooting up schools are outta control!
Yep, the tense of the predicate is in error in the original article ;-)
It’s clearly not a “hardened” building.
Server farms have better security. Why can’t schools? didn’t bother to review best practices?
Sounds like a girl broke up with him and he blamed a teacher
First picture I’ve seen
Nah. He’d attended school there. He knew how to get in
> better security. Why can’t schools?
Because, obviously, that is not the goal.
You know what their goal is, right?
The 15 y/o girl was very attractive and dressed well.
She looked to be about 20 y/o in that photo.
In my day, that was the type of girl who ignored most the boys in her high school and was already dating older guys.
Perhaps the teacher had dealt with the shooter before, telling him he was not allowed in the building anymore, since he wasn’t currently a student.
Through the company I work for, I was invited to speak to some students at a high school. It was the day after Sandy Hook.
I waltzed right in and wandered the halls looking for the room. No locked doors, no one challenged me, nothing.
Two weekends ago, I spent some time with a School resource Officer as he was doing an off-duty in uniform traffic job.
He’s a deputy in a large rural county of about 200,000. He has been lobbying to get a lockbox and a rifle in the school and they won’t allow it.
I told him, “That’s nothing. In Maryland, several districts don’t allow their school police officers to even carry sidearms.”
For real. These morons make the police be unarmed so it doesn’t scare the children.
