Well, that wasnt my opinion; it was what was published in Moscow about a decade ago.
The official line is that his family is from Tver, but there is also a counter story that he was born out of wedlock to a Georgian woman, and adopted by the family from Tver.
To say he has features from the Kalmykia Republic is almost comic. Even Georgians don’t look like that. You’re really stretching!
you mean the Tory’s!!! they are not conservative
the counter story does not doubt Putin's maternal line as being Russian but questions his paternal. What is clear is that he isn't a Rurikid ie varangian
Púty (путы) in archaic Russian meant “bonds”, “tangle”, “shackles”. Putína (путина) came from dialects and means the season of spawning in salmon rivers, or generally the top of the fishing season in northern waterways. The etymology of this word is murky—which points at Finno-Ugric roots.
Muscowy might have originally been a Varangian mjnir duke ruling over an east slavic populace but that merged with the local Finno Ugric people, whom I called uralic above.
But politically Muscowy is a successor to the Mongol khaganate. After the Mongol khaganate split into the Chagatai, Yuan, Ilkhanate and Golden horde in the 1300s, the first 3 died out soon enough, which the Jochi golden horde also split. The dukes of Muscowy, tax collectors for the great Khan took advantage of this to take over khanate after khanate and rebuild the Mongol khaganate.
The Chingizid princes of Kazan, etc joined the Muscowite aristocracy.
That’s hilarious.
Moscow is full of people who look like Putin, i.e. Have similar features; to try to assert he’s Mongol on the basis of some perceived similarities in eye shape is really stretching it!
Yer killin me here!
Like I said bubba, the folks in Moscow be the ones who’re sayin it. If there’s a pure Rurikid walkin around that you can produce as a counter example please do so. Guy like Putin is as common as dirt on ulitsya Tverskaya.
очень хорошо, хронос!

This brings to mind INDIAN SUMMERS, a TV series...
Drama set in 1932 during the final years of British colonial rule in India.
I learned a lot of lingo like Caught Red Handed. One charater in the series was painting political protest signs with red paint. When the officials came looking for the culprit, her hands were still red-stained. Thus, caught Red Handed. Her family was trying to keep her hidden.
It was very good.
So they have now come full circle. I wish them all the best!
