I doubt the 1,500 mile figure. Uranium/plutonium is very heavily and will drop out of the atmosphere quickly. I suppose you could mix in lighter elements which would become radioactive to get a better dirty bomb. But it’s really stupid to use a dirty bomb as a denial of access weapon, land mines are better. And you better have a very accurate weather report, cause if the wind changes direction you are screwed. The only way a dirty bomb get used is as a false flag operation.
