Bush League, Rinos and MAGA. Then conservatives like me. I am not really MAGA I never was. I voted for Trump because it was anybody but Clinton. I was pleasantly surprised about Trump. I stuck with him in 2020 because something smelled about the Democrats campaign. 2024 should be interesting.

The one thing our country doesn’t need right now is a fight between Trump and DeSantis.

O’Dummy asked for it. Desantis endorsing the Senate candidate who vows to campaign against Donald Trump is on the verge of asking for it.

DeSantis has a right to endorse any like minded person he chooses.

This is nothing new. Desantis took some cheap shots at Trump when he (DeSantis) was campaigning for Governor.

I remember that it pissed off Lou Dobbs, a huge Trump supporter.

In my experience, even the worst Republican is better than the best Democrat!
I am not sure why Trump is upset! He should support fellow Republican, even if he is not his friend!

The question is not why is Trump upset. The question is, “Why would O’Dea deliberately antagonize his own base?”

A smarter take for O’Dea seeking high office as a Republican in a blue state might have looked similar to Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who engineered a 10-point flip in Virginia while courting both Trump supporters and ardent Never Trumpers. Youngkin made sure Trump supporters were spoken to but did not make the former president central to the campaign in an off-year contest. Trump gave Youngkin his support in the race, but the pair never appeared together on stage.

An alternative response for O’Dea on questions about Trump might have gone something like this:

Why are you asking me about an election two years from now? My focus is on my own race right in front of me with less than four weeks until Election Day, when Coloradans will decide whether they want an independent voice in Washington or another rubber stamp for Joe Biden, Michael Bennet, who has voted with this administration 98 percent of the time.

O’Dea chose to make a risky play instead by alienating the most popular politician among his own base. That decision will likely haunt him and Republicans such as Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (and now Ron Desantis), who hopes last-minute resources could swing the race and hand over the majority.

Well, maybe O’Dea made a mistake, but Trump could just ignore him.
We need to win, not feud right now!!!
That’s Trump’s worst problem and had been since he got on the political stage - he cannot just ignore some attacks on him.
As a politician, you are guarantee to be attacked, sometimes is the best to just ignore the attacks!

The disaster that is Joe O’Dea:

Throughout the summer, O’Dea remained consistent on the Trump 2024 question by imploring the former president not to run again.

“I’m the only Senate candidate for the Republican Party that hasn’t been endorsed by Donald Trump,” O’Dea said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” last month. “Probably not going to send me a Christmas card. I don’t want to see him run again, I don’t want to see Joe Biden run again. I think that tears our country apart.”

O’Dea’s answer on the Trump question was antagonizing enough to the state’s Republicans who make up the base of O’Dea’s prospective voters, even if the construction executive ran a primary campaign on distancing himself from the former president. But on Sunday, O’Dea poked the bear by taking his opposition to Trump one step further with an interview on CNN, of all networks.

“I’m going to actively campaign against Donald Trump and make sure that we’ve got four or five really great Republicans right now,” O’Dea told CNN’s Dana Bash.

The Sunday statement drew the Monday response from Trump, who is known to punch back.

That’s why Levin said O’Dea should be called O’Dummy and as one of Mitch McConnell’s “great candidates” he may cost us a seat. Don’t blame Trump. Blame O’Dea who is too stupid to know how stupid he really is.

The Buckley Rule applies.

O’Dea is the most conservative candidate in the race.

It sounds like I’ve a is saying he would support other candidates in the 2024 Presidential primary.

Nothing wrong with that.

Trump is not my choice is 2024, but I will support the candidate who gets the nomination, no matter who that is.

Trump has made many bigger MISTAKES.

Twice in selecting Attorney General.

His personal attorney prior to running.

The GOP establishment perverts the “Buckley rule.” This was not done by Trump. It was this moron that blew off the base and then goes on CNN that has spent years lying about us to bend his knee. This guy is a clown.

Yes. DeSantis made a YUGE mistake supporting an anti-TRUMP Cheney acolyte RINO.

DeSantis endorsed Mitt Romney?

Oh wait. No, that was President Trump who endorsed Mitt Romney.

In other words, this RINOs agenda is to get in the Senate in order to torpedo Trump. Talk about waking up at night and searching for ways to be stupid.

I’m the same - I don’t use Truth because I never used Twitter, the platform that Truth was designed to compete with.

The format for both Truth and Twitter is too random for me. You read something interesting by Trump or someone else you know, and that’s great, but it is followed by comments by random people - I just don’t put any stock in random people, even the ones I happen to agree with. As cooked as they are, I find polls more meaningful, because at least they attempt to be statistically representative.

Here on FR, you can at least get to know frequent posters and decide if they are worth listening to.

As for deSantis, I think this was an unforced error by him.

True, he and Trump are both good men and we don’t want to let the Left use these incidents to divide us.

True, we should vote for Republicans in the General - even douchebags like O’Dea. The Primary was the time to oppose O’Dea.

But that’s not what’s going on here. We should hold our noses and vote for anti-Trump, anti-MAGA RINOs - NOT campaign for them - NOT defend them.

DeSantis should have known better. By doing what he did, he aided and abetted the Left’s false narrative that there is substantial anti-Trump sentiment among the Republican grass roots - or anti DeSantis sentiment for that matter. There is neither.

Trump handled it perfectly, DeSantis uncharacteristically walked right into their trap. I hope he thinks twice next time - he’s got a great future if he does.

Getting very tired of this childlessness by Trump; it is certainly not Christian.
