WASHINGTON, October 22. /TASS/. The US Army's 101st Airborne Division is ready to enter Ukraine in case of further tensions between Moscow and Kiev or an attack on a NATO member state, CBS News reported, citing the division’s command staff.

"We're ready to defend every inch of NATO soil," the division's Deputy Commander Brigadier General John Lubas said, as cited by the media outlet. Commander of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team Colonel Edwin Matthaidess, in turn, noted that his troops, deployed to Romania, have been "closely watching" the Russian forces, "building objectives to practice against" and conducting drills that "replicate exactly what's going on" in the war.

"In all, about 4,700 soldiers from the 101st Airborne's home base in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, have been deployed to reinforce NATO's eastern flank," CBS News noted.

"The commanders told CBS News repeatedly that they are always ‘ready to fight tonight,’ and while they're there to defend NATO territory, if the fighting escalates or there's any attack on NATO, they're fully prepared to cross the border into Ukraine," the media outlet added.

>>Um, when did Ukraine become NATO soil?<<
Right? How bout we recall the Cuban missile crisis.

How would Americans feel if China or Russia set up a military presence in....oh let’s say, Messy-co? Hmmm!

This is a European problem, not an American problem. Our constitution allows for the defense of this nation, not Ukraine.

Billions, not millions...Billions of hard-earned American tax $$$ and American weaponry are pouring into this conflict.

If folks don’t think Russia sees this as an American and or NATO war against them is either deaf or plain stupid.

Who blew up the Nord stream pipelines? It wasn’t Russia. Not many countries have the capability to carry out such an operation where three detonations within minutes of one another under the surface of the sea.

We just spent TRILLIONS of dollars in a 20-year war in Afghanistan...for what? This whole thing is insane.

How bout we recall the Cuban missile crisis.

That nails it for me. This constant pushing NATO and the Eurozone east is a threat to Russia. Ukraine in NATO is analogous to Russia or China having military bases in Sonora or Chihuahua.

Actually, it was the result of Britain guaranteeing war if the Germans rolled into Poland. I know the Poles don’t want to hear this, but you shouldn’t have been a trigger event for WW 2, neither should Ukraine. Britain simply did not have the force to do anything to Germany without the US. IMO, I saw nothing wrong with Germany rolling up Britain, France and parts of the British Empire in the Middle East, of course I was not there. The Russians do not have the power to go further than the Ukraine. To enter into a war over a border dispute with the Nazis of Ukraine? Insanity.

My attitude has been the same year after year, defend your country from invasion, and keep as Allies, Taiwan, S Korea, Australia the Phillipines and keep a strong Navy to keep our mainland safe. Screw NATO runnin’. 80 years of us protecting them, let them do it themselves. The real danger will come from the Pacific and maybe through Canada.

More US body bags for the cause of the Liberal World Order. Russia isn’t going to attack NATO. They have no reason to.

We have no reason to support Ukraine. Russia is not attacking the United States.

Will it be like the Theatres during the film “Independence Day” as movie goers cheered as the aliens lit up the white house?

I’ll be gone if it goes nuclear, as NW Washington state will be taken out. From Sub-base Bangor, PSNS, and McCord/Ft. Lewis, this area will be a smoldering pit just 90 miles from home. There are likely missiles in shipping containers in Florida, that will unfold like a Transformer and take out the East Coast without warning. The same from Cali taking out SD. The Chinkanese will roll into the US after wiping out resistance on HI, Midway and Japan.

We are well and truly effed. Wrong war, wrong time, wrong army, navy and marines.

Give them time. The DC regime is doing everything within its power to provide Russia with a reason to attack NATO.

There is a tape of Obama/Biden/Hellary talking about moving NATO into the Ukraine would be a trigger point for the Russians. So what did they come up with? Poke Poke Poke the Bear, then blame them for being the aggressor.

Very good analogy. If the sister strikes back, the little boy cries and she gets in trouble.

American cut off fuel and the materials to make tires etc. We did so to provoke a war. Not only that, but we had already broken the code of the Japanese, we knew they were heading to Pearl, and had the carriers out of port. They court martialed the head of Pacific forces for dereliction, he was convicted. After the war, he got the complete proof that he was a fall guy. The Japanese ambassadors were not allowed to deliver their Declaration of war, which Roosevelt knew they had been ordered to give, so that he could add the “Deliberate and unprovoked” portion of his prepared speech.

Call me a kook, then go read the story of the Admiral who was vindicated after WW 2 was over and FDR was dead and buried and on his way to Hell.

It looks to me as if the present strategy is to reassure nervous NATO countries like Romania, and at the same time keep Russian forces spread thin.

No news to you I am sure, but NATO has 3.5 million military personnel to draw from. Plus the new Finland - Russia border...

"I said, "They did on Jan 3 2021. They had the speaker of the house conduct the vote for Jan 6. Which that is the States job by US code"
Vermont Lt The count is conducted in the house and then sent to the Senate"
Both statements are true: Though you missed the important part.

From the requirements from US Code:
"objections shall be submitted to the Senate for its decision.

From the article from Politico
"(The objection that was stated in writing) states — not Congress — are responsible for selecting electors"
"Pence declined to embrace that strategy in court, and Congress would similarly refuse to entertain such an effort

Thus the coup was that the house of representatives took it on themselves to not pass the objection to the Senate. Their stated reason was because "Pence didn't entertain the objection"
https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/3/15

The wording using "entertain" for a required US code procedure makes this criminal in my opinion.

in 1876 they did pass the objections on to the senate. Which btw was very similar where Democrat states clearly organized a massive voter fraud operation.
