PM expresses "deep support" over emerging Russia-Iran ties; tells Russian opposition TV that weapons trade between Moscow and Tehran 'puts the whole world in danger'
Prime Minister Yair Lapid spoke with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on Thursday amid anger Kyiv over Israel's refusal to supply arms to Ukraine in their war against Russia.
After the discussion, Lapid tweeted that Kuleba updated him on the war, while the prime minister said he "shared with him (Kuleba) our deep concern about the military ties between Iran and Russia," affirming that "Israel stands with the Ukrainian people."
However Lapid made no mention of Ukraine's formal request that Israel supplies Ukraine with air defense systems in the wake of the barrage of Russian strikes in recent days, many believed carried out with Iranian-supplied drones...

Smart. Ukraine is nothing but a tar baby for the entrapment of unwary westerners.
Iran is using this as a testing area, to improve their weapons
The same drones that Iran is now firing against Ukraine will be used some day by Iran to attack Israel
Who knows but G-d that the Russians are sharing their newfound knowledge of Iranian drones with the Israelis under the table.
Rabbi Yaakov Dov Bleich, the Chief Rabbi of Kyiv and Ukraine: "Words are cheap. All of the statements are worthless if people are being killed and Israel has the ability to aide Ukrainians. Again we are not talking about lethal weapons. We are talking about defensive weapons"
why would they possibly do that?
that would be sure to tick off the Iranians, who hate Israel, and stop their helping Russia
... but given the genuine menace that Iran represents to Israel, it’s more likely that Israel has already made a secret deal with Ukraine to share intel, as long as Israel gets to publicly deny any involvement
Normally, PMs talk with PMs; and FMs talk with FMs.
Strange has Zelensky estranged himself.
And any counter measures Israel gave to Ukraine would end up in the hands of Tehran and then Hezollah. Be smart Israel. Don’t get sucked in by the very same cabal that will backstab you later.
—”why would they possibly do that?”
There were many Ukrainians in Israel before this war, and more now.
A fair amount of the ROC work (Resistance Operating Concept) appears to come out of Israel.
‘Those who know do not speak. Those who speak do not know.’
Said some old Chinese guy.
Many more in Israel identify as Russian, with a high percentage not identifying as Jews. Avigdor Liberman leads a political party for them.
—”Many more in Israel identify as Russian,”
Something I’d never thought about, so I have to ask.
Are you suggesting that a large number are possibly supporting Putin?
We have had an influx of new neighbors from eastern Europe.
Not one has said anything nice about Putin.
Putin has support in Israel, but note a lot of it is because of Israel-Russia agreements to limit Islamic terrorists in Syria, not because they think Putin a great human being.
Avigdor Liberman , currently Minister of Finance and past Deputy Prime Minister, is known to prefer closer relations with Russia instead of with the US.
“A series of letters, from the #Polish and #Israeli embassies in #Ukraine protesting the #Zelensky governments decision to pass laws commemorating #Nazis. They were sent only 2 years ago.”

Israel was founded by people who fled and survived the Nazis. They FULL WELL understand what Ukraine is.
They know Ukraine’s Nazi Heritage but the rest of the world is stuck on the stupid of not knowing.
Watching the (non-official) discussion from Israelis online:
Likely the most important point is that Israelis feel a time is coming when they will need every shred of Iron Dome they can put together in the forseeable future. Officially of course, Israel does not say this, as it would embolden their enemies.
Next is that Russia allows Israel to pop pro-Iranian anti-Israel (and also anti-Assad) terrorists in Syria without having to fear Russian air defenses. Israel could probably get past those defenses anyway, but, why take the risk, and why take the risk of an escalated dust-up with Russia? Russia’s calculus on this relative to their relationship with Iran is... interesting to say the least. I really wonder how that might change if Russia becomes dependent on the Iranian drones, etc., and gets a taste of their own nastiness, blackmail, from Iran.
Operational & technical security, as mentioned by multiple posters here, is very important to Israel.
Suitability of Iron Dome to zap the new Iranian drones. I myself have serious doubts about the capabilities of Iron Dome vs. those noisy buzz-drones in Ukraine. Israel’s 1st priority is its own defense; in this case, solving a new problem.
These are not the only concerns, but they seem to be generally the biggest, and, all valid.
Israel should share the IronDome with Ukraine.
Once you have the advanced concept, counter-counter measure design begins.
Physical transfer of systems could be fairly easily prevented.
I may not like the Iranian regime but they do have oil money, fanatical determination, and some dangerous tech people. That's why Mossad knocks some of the latter off, once in a while. (Easiest leg of the chair to hit.) "Respect" in a sense, for the enemy.
