Major job cuts are coming to Twitter whether or not Elon Musk acquires the social media company.
Musk has told prospective investors that he plans to cut nearly 75% of staff at Twitter, The Washington Post reported Thursday. That would bring Twitter’s staff down from 7,500 employees to around 2,000. Over time, he would hire new people to increase the staff again, however.
And even if he doesn’t close, Twitter’s existing management planned to cut the workforce by about a quarter, the Post reported. The company also plans to make cuts to infrastructure like data centers.
Musk previously hinted at major job cuts in text messages with investor Jason Calacanis. But the Post report outlined much more significant job cuts than previously reported.
Musk is scheduled to close on his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter on October 28, or face trial in Delaware next month.
Sweet. They deserve a good, strong RIF.
Fan Freakin’ Tabulous!!!
Well, at least they already know how to code.
This is awful! There’ll be nobody to check “facts” and declare what is true and what is “disinformation.” How will we get along without those special people?
thinking about sending a case of Depends over to Twatter HQ to absorb all of the pants pissing going on right now.
What are the proposed moves by the See Eye Eh?
No Turkey for You!

Maybe they’ll quit before that and solve the problem by itself.
Put on notice! Yes!!!
To all twitter employees that wanted to force Musk to close the deal...careful what you wish for, you may get it.
What possibly could 7500 Twitter employees be doing with themselves all day? I almost wonder if half of them are tucked away, creating leftist Tweets all day.
Fire the ones with green hair first!
By cut he means replace.
A change in company culture begins with replacing people.
Wait a second. I've seen some girls with green hair that were entirely innocent.
It depends on the shade. And it depends on whether they're guilty or not guilty regardless of hair color.
But anything in the yellow green to kermit shade presumed guilty until proven otherwise.
