Meeting federal emissions goals may require federal agencies to acquire about 30,000 emissions-free vehicles per year and about 25 times the current number of charging ports, according to the Government Accountability Office (GAO).
The Biden administration in December issued an executive order mandating all new federal vehicle acquisitions be emissions-free by 2035, with the requirement applying to all light-duty vehicle acquisitions by 2027. The order covers about 380,000 vehicles, including about 260,000 light-duty vehicles, according to the GAO report.

Will they sell off the normal vehicles in the usual way, or will they just crush them?
All the new IRS agents should be required to drive government-issue EVs.
That way they’ll spend most of their time at recharging stations instead of enforcing ESG requirements on the peasants.
“Nope” .... Is short but sweet!
well they are not emission free
so they are really just wasting money
to further the globull warming hoax
make them power the EVs with wind/solar only
I think there could be a solid legal challenge to government contracts defining zero emissions vehicles. They are not. They cannot be. They are non-compliant with the solicitation for purchase. The GAO cannot allow the purchase of items not in accordance with the bid requirements if the solicitation calls for zero emissions vehicles.
Wonder how many of the EV salesmen here are rubbing their hands together and chuckling quietly to themselves now?
Tell the Federal government they are 31 trillion dollars in debt and that they are immoral and crazy.
LOL
EV’s are also chemical polluters.
Seems to me there will be no electricity anyway
So good luck charging all those gobmint electric vehicles
Just remember to park outside as spontaneous combustion is a feature.
Too bad some miscreant stole the charging cable
Meanwhile serious pollution has been noticed because of people burning off the insulation to recover the copper for sale.
When charging cables are outlawed.....
Women, minorities, LGBDQ and seniors hurt most
News at 10.
Pour sodium silicate in the engine to destroy it. That’s what they did during the “cash for clunkers” (ie perfectly good vehicles) debacle.
I’m sure all in the government at all levels will be driving them soon, courtesy of taxpayers.
With any luck and an honest election the next president can rescind this “Order”.
You’re dead wrong. The Environmental Movement, led by the Gaia Greenies, has already solved this problem. All that’s necessary is to take each CEO of each utility company out to a Sacred Gaia Tree, sacrifice him/her according to ancient Aztec practice by ripping out his/her bleeding heart. Then an electrical plug will appear magically in the Gaia Tree, actually making it possible to plug all electric devices that had previously consumed evil emissions into the Gaia Tree and get all the electricity needed.
30,000 coal-powered Edsels...LOL...what could possibly go wrong???? /s
A few courses in Queueing Theory might help determine the quantity and quality of the charging stations needed, as well as their distribution across their field of operation.
You have it backwards
There are many more citizens seething at the Gaia Greenies than there are Gaia Greenies, liberal, democrat and communists (but I repeat myself) and they will be hunted down and receive the just punishment you have suggested.
With the increased presence of EVs, I thought of a way to maybe make a few bucks off them.
First buy a credit card processing accessory for your phone.
Next, when you see an incapacitated EV on the roadside, stop offer to drive one of the car’s passengers up to 10 miles for $50 payable immediately.
Be sure your CCL weapon is handy.
... just like Uber!
“To meet sustainability goals, government much purchase an unsustainable number of electric vehicles...”
