House Majority Whip Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) said Thursday on MSNBC’s “José Díaz-Balart Reports” that he believes it would be foolish for Americans to vote based on inflation concerns rather than “voting rights.”
Díaz-Balart asked, “Congressman, what do you say to people who say Washington can talk about all these big programs and everything else, but I’m worried about the cost of food? I’m seeing the cost of eggs shoot up, chicken, gasoline, you know, coming now with the winter heating. These are all concerns that hit very directly to people.”
Clyburn said, “Well, let me make it very clear, all of us are concerned about these rising costs. All of us knew this would be the case when we put in place this recovery program. Any time you put more money into the economy, prices tend to rise. We do know that price gouging takes place, and that’s what we’re concerned about in Georgia.

“Clyburn on the Midterms: ‘Fools’ Would Trade Voting Rights for Cheaper Gas”
You know, millionaires can take any position they want because it doesn’t effect them! That includes both sides!
I don’t begrudge anyone who is wealthy but when the wealthy (dems) blast the GOP for helping the rich it urinates me off!
This is a decades tested democratic ploy. “Shame” folks into agreeing with them. In the 1990s, the magic spell was to accuse whomever of being RACIST. All you had to do was say “Well I think you’re a racist” and you were expected to run screaming from the room denying it. In 2010 it was to brand folks as “HOMOPHOBIC”. Now, it’s “not caring about ____”, in Clyburn’s case, voting rights. With Joy Behar, it’s “abortion”. With some, it’s about “climate change”.
The problem for them is that people have wearied of either apologizing for, or hiding the existence of, their opinions. And with people not caring what other think, the democrats have nothing left but virtue signaling and 4 hens clucking on “The View”.
As for me personally, I explain it thus: “There’s an extremely short list of people in this world whose opinions matter to me, and you’re not on it.”
The only equality Obama’s and Clyburn’s beloved minority will see will be their equal place in line to board the boxcars to the ovens.
He can ask the Chechens, the Crimean Tatars, the Volga Germans, the Kalmycks, the Hmong, and the Uighurs among many what happens to troublesome minorities in a communist dictatorship.
Excellent comment.
