MOSCOW, October 19. /TASS/. Martial law has been introduced in Russia’s four new regions, President Vladimir Putin told the Security Council on Wednesday.
According to the presidential decree, martial law is introduced in the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics, and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions from October 20. The maximum response level is in effect there.
Russia’s regions bordering Ukraine will observe a medium level of response, other regions of the Central and Southern federal districts - a level of higher readiness, and the other regions of Russia - the basic one.

Declaring martial law in regions that are already at war? He’s just acknowledging what’s happening on the ground.
I hear the Russians are due to supply the Ukrainians with a massive amount of equipment this week in the Kherson region.
Perhaps this is a prelude to some internal crackdown in all areas mentioned.

It makes no sense to me. I assume it’s just the prelude to a more intensive eradication effort for the undesirable elements left in the territories.
The US is a pretty big place. And there aren’t a lot of “martial forces” to enact military control.
Doom porn sounds like it makes sense. Practical application is another thing.
