'Weak' Vladimir Putin is turning to 'deeply irresponsible' nuclear rhetoric because he has 'few options left'...

Vladimir Putin has been accused of using 'deeply irresponsible' nuclear rhetoric Though Chief of the Defence Staff Tony Radakin said 'it is a sign of weakness'

Russian president Vladimir Putin has been criticised for 'deeply irresponsible' nuclear rhetoric, as fears grow that he may make a show of force using a nuke over the Black Sea.

Last month Putin said he was ready to use nuclear weapons if necessary to defend Russia's 'territorial integrity' and yesterday Russia said seized Ukrainian lands are under its nuclear protection.

The threatening statements are believed to have increased in frequency due to Putin having 'few options left' after weeks of humiliating losses to Ukraine on the battlefield.

Today, Chief of the Defence Staff Tony Radakin urged the international community to remain united against what he called Russian President Vladimir Putin's 'deeply irresponsible' nuclear rhetoric.

'He (Putin) has few options left. Hence, the nuclear rhetoric,' he said during a speech.

'And while this is worrying and deeply irresponsible, it is a sign of weakness, which is precisely why the international community needs to remain strong and united.'

Defence Secretary Ben Wallace flew to Washington on Tuesday for emergency talks with the Pentagon.

A third of Ukraine was left without power as the new head of Russia's armed forces Sergei Suvorikin, nicknamed 'General Armageddon', launched a series of missile and drone strikes.

Following the attack, Mr Wallace cancelled a meeting with MPs and travelled Washington DC to discuss 'security concerns'.

A security source told The Sun that 'the threat has increased recently'.

Junior defence minister James Heappey told Sky News that Mr Wallace was in Washington 'having the sort of conversations that - beyond belief, really - the fact that we're at a time when these sort of conversations are necessary'.

So, stop falsely >>quoting<< “PUTIN SAYS HE WILL USE NUCLEAR WEAPONS!”

Every national leader says, “We will use all means” etc.

Zelensky said there should be a pre-emptive attack to prevent Russia from launching a nuclear attack.

How do you do that without using nuclear weapons? And just who is going to do this "pre emptive attack" outside of the US? And what do you think Russia will do when the US launches nuclear attacks at their nuclear silos? Sit down and cheer it?

Running out of options to prevent loosing face. As I see it, If he waits too long, then he will fall to internal pressure to remove him from power. That never goes well in Russia.

If he does nothing, eventually he will loose control over the contested regions and Russia will be forced out. This would be a very bad loss of face.

If he acts quickly, his only choices are 1) massive mobilization and all out attack but that is unlikely to work. Or resort to nukes.

Pretty sure that none of these options will end “well”. He has been backed into a corner of his own making.

What is that BS?

Just post the exact quote by Putin where he said, “I’ll use nuclear weapons.”

EVERY national leader says, “I will use all means.”

Stop lying. It’s embarrassing.

“If the territorial integrity of our country is threatened, we will without doubt use all available means to protect Russia and our people - this is not a bluff,” Putin said in a televised address to the nation.

That quote does not mention "nuclear." You may believe it is a nuclear threat, but it seems not to be a threat of using nuclear weapons as a response to non-nuclear attacks.

Don’t move the goalposts. You said that Zelensky called for a pre-emptive NUCLEAR strike on Russia to prevent Russia from launching nukes against Ukraine. I showed you where you were wrong, that he never said that.

All this other stuff you are now introducing into the conversation is diversionary, as you have no response or rebuttal to my showing you were wrong in your comment.

But, let’s now take a look at your new argument (because you lost the original one).

You ask: “How do you do that without using nuclear weapons?”

Well, I addressed that in another post, to another FReeper.

However, such a conventional pre-emptive attack would in all probability not neutralize nearly enough Russian nuclear systems to make such a pre-emptive attack worthwhile, especially since Russia has something like 6,000 nuclear warheads (that they have admitted to). Even if the pre-emptive strike was nuclear in nature, Russia has more nuke warheads than the West combined.

So, all this talk of a nuclear holocaust is just so much sensationalism; just alarmism for the sake of alarmism. Because, when all is said and done, no one is going to attack the Russian nuclear capacity and no one is going to attack ours. Because doing so would result in the utter destruction of Russia and its allies on the one hand and the US and most of the NATO countries on the other.

You said that Zelensky called for a pre-emptive NUCLEAR strike on Russia to prevent Russia from launching nukes against Ukraine.

Again, you can't effectively take out nuclear silos without using nuclear weapons. Zelensky was effectievly calling for pre emptive nuclear strikes against Russia. Essentially demanding the world commit suicide because of him.

I showed you where you were wrong, that he never said that.

You showed me nothing. You just tried to gaslight. As usual.

All this other stuff you are now introducing into the conversation is diversionary, as you have no response or rebuttal to my showing you were wrong in your comment.

What “other stuff”?
Its the same stuff.

https://www.usnews.com/news/world/articles/2022-10-18/kremlin-annexed-ukrainian-lands-protected-by-russian-nuclear-weapons

“Asked by reporters if the regions were under Moscow’s nuclear umbrella, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “All these territories are inalienable parts of the Russian Federation and they are all protected. Their security is provided for at the same level as [it is for] the rest of Russia’s territory.”

President Vladimir Putin said last month that Moscow was ready to use nuclear weapons if necessary to defend Russia’s “territorial integrity”.”

“Again, you can’t effectively take out nuclear silos without using nuclear weapons.”

Yeah, you can. For instance, our GBU-type penetrators and “bunker busters” as well as the AGM-130 and BLU-109 were designed for just such targets. None of those weapons are nuclear.

“Zelensky was effectievly (sic) calling for pre emptive nuclear strikes against Russia. Essentially demanding the world commit suicide because of him.”

Again, no. As I showed above, nuclear weapons are not necessary to take out hardened targets such as silos.

“You showed me nothing.”

Yeah, I did.

“You just tried to gaslight. As usual.”

You can deny the facts; but facts are not gaslighting.

Many thanks. Travis is difficult to convince on this :) It was Putin and his TV media spokes-stooges who love to curry favor with The Boss. Who brought up nuke use first.

If you missed this. And I read about this. -—>>>

You almost got it right. The British Intelligence theory is, that by constantly publicizing and playing up Putin’s stupid nuke talk, that this handcuffs Putin from ever using them. This is the “predictive programming” that is going on.

(part of this clever Brit psyching out of Putin. Handcuffing him on nuke use. Was that Putin might explode a nuke over the Black Sea to show seriousness of intent. Ridiculous but colorful. As seen in UK Daily Mail)

******And it was Rus who destroyed their own pipeline. Actually, Germans paid half.

Putin gave the first nuking threat on the day he first invaded and then 3 days later put his nuclear forces on alert.

“Feb 27, 2022 9:38 AM EDT
KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — In a dramatic escalation of East-West tensions over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, President Vladimir Putin ordered Russian nuclear forces put on high alert”
