House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) sought to tamp down worries that a GOP majority would use raising the federal debt ceiling as leverage to secure reforms on entitlement programs like Social Security and Medicare after a comment of his spurred Democratic attacks.
“I never mentioned Social Security or Medicare. Actually, in the ‘Commitment to America,’ we say to strengthen Social Security and Medicare,” McCarthy said on CNBC Wednesday morning.

No one is going to make any adjustments to current recepients or anyone else who enters SS system in the next 15-20 years.

A debt ceiling? What exactly is the definition of a debt
ceiling? Politicians are as able to answer that as a judge
is to answer with definiation of a woman. The sky’s the limit.
The recipients of SS & Medicare are NOT the persons spending $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ hand over fist in DC.
That would be punishing the wrong perp.
They should be linking FBI funding to the debt ceiling. No money until all top management are fired.
