The funding will be spread across 20 different companies who will all make generous contributions to their favorite democrat politicians. Another way they can loot the treasury.

I can't stand this stuff either. And I like both my EV and my ICE pickup. IMHO EV's can have a market share in a free market without gubment help.

That includes making EV batteries locally. The greenies get in the way of mining and processing rare-earths here, then they demand gubment money to "help" make batteries here.

Get the greenies and big gubment out of the way and let the free market decide if EV's are good both in making them and in selling them.

1 Billion?

This is the same song and dance Carter did, I was working in transportation then.

Lots and lots of “investments” in solar electricity and nat gas for all our cars. It took about 2 weeks for all that money to dry up once he left office, slightly longer for the industry partners to declare bankruptcy.

SloJo, why not just burn the bucks you’ve stolen from the
serfs? Easier for frail men and it takes less time.

<>Me too, when is this garbage going to stop?<>

When Granholm, Brandon/Hunter, congressmen, senators and the rest of the Deep State stop making money from EV kickbacks and stocks.

I assume John Podesta, who was put in charge of distributing $370 Billion in EV walkin’ around money, will handsomely reward the rat camp-followers.

Who in the hell is making money on this crap?
Elon Musk. You don't think he got to be the richest man in the world by building and selling poor quality electric cars do you?

Tax payer subsidies on the limited sales, by comparison, of POS cars is what made him rich.

Having the likes of Biden once again "investing" funds from taxpayers for EV infrastructure that can't afford an electric car , also takes that burden/expense away from Musk.

The genius of Musk is the way he milks the system using taxpayers as "investors" with never having to pay back dividends.

It's the ultimate Ponzi/Madoff/pyramid scheme without facing jail time.

It would make more sense to invest the $3 billion in new nuclear power plants. But we all know that will never happen as long as democRATS are in power.

Try not to be so selfish. Our politicians should retire multimillionaires with 2or 3 mansions.
After all, isn’t that why we work so hard..so they can live like royalty?

>>The investments will allow U.S. manufacturers to process critical minerals like lithium and nickel that are used in battery production, guarding against supply chain disruptions, administration officials said. Those materials are particularly important in the production of electric vehicle batteries, as Biden has called for half of all vehicles to be electric by 2030.

The $140 million per project should just about cover the environmental studies required.

“A senior administration official said the funding will lead to 8,000 new jobs, 5,000 of which are expected to be permanent.”

How long is “pernanent”? A week? A month?
