I remember these parades being the one of the highlights of my kids’ elementary school year.

What will they cancel next?

I bet they have a prayer room for the muslim kids and stop serving pork in the cafeteria.

If it ain’t high on their DEI score (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) anything and everything can get cancelled.

I worked at a K-8 district for many years. The Halloween parade was fantastic. Many moms went all out on their and their kids’ costumes—yes most were store bought, but the best came from the minds of the moms. Everyone but the Jehovah’s Witnesses kids had great fun. They either didn’t come that day, went home early or sat in a room with a teacher.

I still sub at that school and I recently talked to the granddaughter of one of ‘those’ moms. The stories of her costumes has become a part of family lore. The school still does the parade, but the older kids no longer take part.
