Young people in Taiwan overwhelmingly do not think Taiwan is part of China or that they are Chinese.
The dwindling number of Taiwanese that favor unification (not as part of PRC) are mainly older.

I asked a Taiwanese software engineer who worked for TSMC now working in U.S. who said elders to younger to youths even to grade school children know they will be slaughtered by the communist red Chinese if ever PRC conquer Taiwan. So most people in Taiwan have bunker mentality. Taiwan is armed to the teeth. They're prepared to die fighting if worse comes to worst.
