President Xi Jinping on Sunday kicked-off the 20th congress of China's ruling Communist Party with warnings that he may use force to retake Taiwan as he slammed foreign interference in its reunification efforts.

The gathering of roughly 2,300 delegates from around the country began in the vast Great Hall of the People on the west side of Tiananmen Square amid tight security and under blue skies after several smoggy days in the Chinese capital.

Xi began a speech that touted the party's safeguarding of national security, maintaining social stability, protecting people's lives and taking control of the situation in Hong Kong, which was rocked by anti-government protests in 2019.

On Taiwan, Xi said, 'We have resolutely waged a major struggle against separatism and interference, demonstrating our strong determination and ability to safeguard state sovereignty and territorial integrity and oppose Taiwan independence.'

The gathered delegates responded with loud applause as their president emphasized that China will 'never commit to abandoning the use of force' in its unification with Taiwan, which he called inevitable.

Xi added that China will accelerate the building of a world-class military and strengthen its ability to build a strategic deterrent capability

Xi reaffirment of China's power in Asia comes after President Joe Biden vowed the US military will defend Taiwan if China launches an invasion as he ramped up the rhetoric with Beijing over the tiny island nation.

The President suggested he would deploy troops to the region if Xi Jinping's forces initiated an 'unprecedented attack'. But his explosive comments were quickly torpedoed by the White House, which said official policy had not changed.

An official rushed to stress the US remains 'strategic ambiguity' to the threat to Taiwan - as set out in the 1979 Taiwan Relations Act.

Just pay the protection fee and be done with it. Cheaper than a war.

Keep in mind they are Han Chinese and you aren’t worth the bullet it costs to rid them of your existence. They’ll make you pay for it and dig your own grave.
You don’t have a clue about their culture.

You forgot the and signs. Seriously, China has an incredible financial problem that is extremely widespread. First, there is a housing financial crisis that is destroying many middle and upper class families. Second, the Covid shutdowns have destroyed the jobs of countless workers. Many workers from rural farming areas went to the big cities to get jobs, they got jobs and then the factories were closed for Covid and they had no money for housing or food. The concept of the tail wagging the dog, comes to mind. A nice military war would divert a lot of attention away from the domestic crisis and would also justify harsh military law to prevent a revolution. The Chinese military has no qualms about killing civilians. They have no qualms with kidnapping people to try them in mainland China. What Taiwan has going for it is that is where much of the wealth in China is concentrated. It is also where many of the people who own the factories responsible for China’s economic miracle growth live. Taiwan is also armed to the teeth and its rich factory owners have friends in governments all over the world. I honestly think that China would have invaded Taiwan already to distract its population from the financial problems. I suspect that with Russia being on the world’s Sh#t-list and the economic sanctions being imposed, that China is having second thoughts that an invasion would (1) make things worse economically with sanctions and (2) Russia and its nuclear weapons would not back up their much fewer nuclear threat to destroy the west if they interfere in the invasion of Taiwan.

Xi is much like Putin and the mullahs in Iran. He sees his ally with a communist army being thrashed, so he’s blowing smoke and beating his chest.

Where'd you hear this BS? Supporters of the CCP in Taiwan are a small minority.

There's zero chance of the USA "running out of weapons," no matter how much you punks want to see rape and murder on a mass scale somewhere in the world.
