The Indwelling Christ
Read: John 14:15–24

On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. John 14:20

English preacher F. B. Meyer (1847–1929) used the example of an egg to illustrate what he called “the deep philosophy of the indwelling Christ.” He noted how the fertilized yolk is a little “life germ” that grows more and more each day until the chick is formed in the shell. So too will Jesus come to live with us through His Holy Spirit, changing us. Meyer said, “From now on Christ is going to grow and increase and absorb into Himself everything else, and be formed in you.”

He apologized for stating the truths of Jesus imperfectly, knowing that his words couldn’t fully convey the wonderful reality of Christ dwelling in believers through the Holy Spirit. But he urged his listeners to share with others, however imperfectly, what Jesus meant when He said, “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you” (John 14:20). Jesus said these words on the night of His last supper with His friends. He wanted them to know that He and His Father would come and make their home with those who obey Him (v. 23). This is possible because through the Spirit Jesus dwells in those who believe in Him, changing them from the inside out.

No matter how you picture it, we have Christ living inside us, guiding us and helping us to grow to be more like Him.Amy Boucher Pye

What difference does it make to you that Jesus dwells within you? How do you see His presence in others?

Dear Jesus, You’re God and man. Thank You for giving of Yourself so sacrificially, that I might be called a child of God.

Bible in a year: Isaiah 47–49; 1 Thessalonians 4

Dear God:
I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman,
Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine
feel alone or forgotten.

O Israel, hope in the Lord;
For with the Lord there is loving kindness,
And with Him is abundant redemption.
And He will redeem Israel
From all his iniquities.

Psalm 130:7 & 8

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.

May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

Good evening, radu and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.

Did you have a big weekend? Lots of visitors and tours?

Feetsies up? Something to eat? Relaxing?

Howdy, Kathy.

It was a fun weekend. The weather was gorgeous and I was afraid we’d be dead since our weather is about to take an ugly turn. But not everyone chose to do outdoor things and we had a decent number of visitors.

My first tour today was my fave of the weekend. A gentleman from GA stopped by to check us out and it turned into a two-hour tour. He had a lot of questions about items he saw and he enjoyed hearing about our area’s role in WWII history. He also loved all the prototypes.

At one point he said that bases on the way I spoke about things, he had the impression I was of Conservative bent. I smile and said, “Yep.”
He travels around buying and selling military surplus items as well as other neat small things. As he was leaving, he said he had something for me. I followed him out to his van and he reached in, then handed me a bumper sticker and a license plate - - both had “Let’s Go Brandon” on them. ROTFL!!!

Supper has been eaten and feetsies are up. Watching Soylent Green, which I haven’t seen in eons.

Did you, by any chance, manage to squeeze in some relax time today? I know you have a busy week ahead to get ready for but some chill time would do some good before that hits.

I loved and hated Soylent Green when I first saw it.

I loved the apartments they had.

I hated that they were scooping up the protestors for food.

It was a difficult movie to watch as a child. It was more thought provoking as an adult.

No me time so far. Fortunately I didn’t have to go into the office today. I woke up to a short inch of snow on the deck. I shoveled it off trying to get the ice off, as we are supposed to get rain starting this evening and continuing some all week. Been working all day.

Does your ugly weather at least get you some rain?

Howdy, JJ!! *Hugz*

It was a difficult movie to watch as a child.

Ouch! That makes me feel old. LOL Ok, I AM old. The movie IS a classic and I love it and hate it. It was disturbing the first time I saw it and that hasn't changed, even now. It's a good movie though.

The old movies channel I enjoy watching aired it the other night but I tuned in close to the end. Tonight, I caught it from the beginning.

Very perceptive. LOL We had a great time throughout the tour. he’ll be back next year to see what new things are added between now and then. I told him it’s like Christmas each spring when we reopen and I get to see all the new things they put in there over the winter months.

He said he wished he’d brought a notepad and pen to jot down some of the things I’d brought up so he can dig into them online. Information overload. LOL He was very interested in the TN Maneuvers and Camp Forrest, and also the Red Ball Express. I told him to remember those three things from today’s visit and to have his notepad and pen the next time. :-)

When I got back inside, the others asked what he’d given me and they cracked up when I showed them.
