I must say I though Russia would have sent in armor divisions and won the war in a week or so.
Russian military has never been good or even adequate. They lose more men/women than the other side every time. But win by the other side getting tired of killing russians or running out of supplies.
Odd how a super power is doing so poorly in a war. Either we have been lied to about their strength or Russia is pulling a rope-a-dope. I don’t believe any news reports anymore. We will know when it’s over.
Russia had trouble with Chechnya and Ukraine is over 30 times larger than Chechnya. That fact never sank in to Russian military planers. Ukraine is larger than the combined area of Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi.

In my humble opinion Putin was royally screwed by his buddy Xi.
Hooten was asked if he pretty please wait until the Olympics were over before invading Ukraine. China did not want the spotlight turned away from the glorious final ceremony.
Then General Mud had a say in things. Look it up if you haven’t heard of it before. Equipment not on hard roads sank to their axles or worse. They were sitting ducks. Tanks and heavy equipment were abandoned and later recovered by the Ukrainians. The forward momentum of their blitzkrieg literally got stuck in the mud.
