Moscow Orders Crimea Bridge To Be Repaired By July 2023

Russia indicated Friday repairs to the Crimea bridge could take months after an explosion on the key supply link that sparked a barrage of retaliatory missile strikes on Ukraine.

(snip)

Russia's cabinet, in a decree signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, ordered the company tasked with the "design and restoration of destroyed elements of the transport and engineering infrastructure of the Crimean Bridge" to complete the work by July 1, 2023.

The date for work to be completed gives an indication of the extent of the damage caused by an explosion at the bridge last Saturday, and officials in Moscow have been circumspect about the lasting impact of the incident.

Kinda puts to the lie that the damage was only minimal. Going to be a long winter in Crimea and southern Ukraine for the Russians, especially if the bridge is eventually taken out altogether.

Wow. If I was Ukraine, I’d let them get nearly done, then blast it again.

Doesn’t this bridge cut off Russia from Crimea?

In Russia, you can only pick one.

"Doesn’t this bridge cut off Russia from Crimea?"

Yeah, they have ferries. And Russians were lined up fleeing Crimea and waiting on the ferries.

I understand there is one lane traffic crossing the bridge but no heavy loads.

And I doubt trains can use it either.

So this certainly puts Russia at a disadvantage in Crimea.

Kremlin to Putin: “We have a plan. Get all Ukrainian’s in Crimea as well as ship all the enslaved ones we’ve trafficked to the gulags and that are now in forced servitude within Russia. Put Blue & Gold armbands on them like Adolph did with the Jews wearing gold stars of David. Then put them all to work in Crimea to rebuild the bridge. After they are finished... shoot them.”

Putin: “Stalin & Hitler would both be proud! But don’t shoot them yet. We need them for construction and building projects in the Donetsk and Luhansk. The women are needed for the pleasures and in the service of project managers during their lunch breaks and for visiting dignitaries from Iran and North Korea. After their services are no longer needed, then shoot them all. And make sure you harvest all the gold teeth and fillings from their mouths. I want a solid gold bust made from them to commemorate my greatness and a gold plaque to memorialize all the work I did that will credit me with making the Crimea bridge possible. I might be 5’ 2”, but you guys know I have a HUGE ego!”

Kremlin: “All bow to Putin.”

“So this certainly puts Russia at a disadvantage in Crimea.”

If Ukraine is smart they’ll make some more feints in the east and then when Russia redeploys to defend, they’ll strike towards Crimea and cut Russia off completely.

And if Russia does not redeploy to defend the east, then Ukraine can find weak spots to cause another collapse of the front there. It’s a lose-lose situation for Russia because they have overextended their lines.

First it was an accidental vehicle fire and the bridge immediately reopened, then it was a terrorist attack and the bridge immediately reopened, now this, and by next year at this time the Ukrainians will complete its demolition while whatever Russian regime is in power threatens the world with nuclear annihilation for the umpteenth time.
