Josep Borrell suggests Putin ‘cannot afford bluffing’ and says those backing Ukraine — including NATO and the US — ‘are not bluffing neither’
BRUSSELS — EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell warned Moscow on Thursday that its forces would be “annihilated” by the West’s military response if Russian President Vladimir Putin uses nuclear weapons against Ukraine.
“Putin is saying he is not bluffing. Well, he cannot afford bluffing, and it has to be clear that the people supporting Ukraine and the European Union and the Member States, and the United States and NATO are not bluffing neither,” Borrell said at the opening of a Diplomatic Academy in Brussels.
“Any nuclear attack against Ukraine will create an answer, not a nuclear answer but such a powerful answer from the military side that the Russian Army will be annihilated,” Borrell added.

Also, not that the residents have experience life under occupation by Russian Military, they are NOT in favoring the return of Russian troops that were brutal, stole their property & left them without food!
The thing that always got me about that scene was Fassbender’s character was telling them all he had gone to several British upper-class schools/colleges, so he could have easily implied he learned it there out of habit.
Wouldn’t make him non-German.
As an example, after my 4 years of living in Germany in my small German village, I spent the next several years in the USA using the thumb and two fingers as 3.

There are so many great things in that scene. I’ve probably watched it about 50 times by now.
First of all, he knew all along. The flashback shows him whipping Stiglitz, he even hit Stiglitz in the back when he came to the table. He was just trying to fish for information as to what they were up to.
Also, apparently the book Hallstrom was reading was about German cinema, so he was as knowledgeable about German cinema as Hickox, even his card for the game had the name of an obscure German actress. I suspect he was there because he caught wind of the plot beforehand.
You can see Frau Hammersmark’s look of terror when Hickox gave himself away. That’s why Hallstrom knew he had to stop the charade, he knew the others knew that Hickox gave himself away.

Now it’s only revealed later when Frau Hammersmarck tells Aldo Rayne how they figured him out. So that was how I found out the first time I watched it.
I have a German friend who never saw the movie before we watched it together, when Hickox revealed himself, without any prompting, he let out, “Oh, Scheiße!”
That’s true but the waiting to replace are worse.🤔
He really raised his suspicion when he disinvited him from the table
