White House is pushing ahead research to cool Earth by reflecting back sunlight (only 8.27 years left)
CNBC ^ | 10/13/22 | Catherine Clifford

The White House is coordinating a five-year research plan to study ways of modifying the amount of sunlight that reaches the earth to temper the effects of global warming, a process sometimes called solar geoengineering or sunlight reflection.

The research plan will assess climate interventions, including spraying aerosols into the stratosphere to reflect sunlight back into space, and should include goals for research, what's necessary to analyze the atmosphere, and what impact these kinds of climate interventions may have on Earth, according to the White House's Office of Science and Technology Policy. Congress directed the research plan be produced in its spending plan for 2022, which President Joe Biden signed in March.

Some of the techniques, such as spraying sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere, are known to have harmful effects on the environment and human health. But scientists and climate leaders who are concerned that humanity will overshoot its emissions targets say research is important to figure out how best to balance these risks against a possibly catastrophic rise in the Earth's temperature.

Getting ready to research a topic is a very preliminary step, but it's notable the White House is formally engaging with what has largely been seen as the stuff of dystopian fantasy. In Kim Stanley Robinson's science fiction novel, "The Ministry for the Future," a heat wave in India kills 20 million people and out of desperation, India decides to implement its own strategy of limiting the sunlight that gets to Earth.

Chris Sacca, the founder of climate tech investment fund Lowercarbon Capital, said it's prudent for the White House to be spearheading the research effort.

"Sunlight reflection has the potential to safeguard the livelihoods of billions of people, and it's a sign of the White House's leadership..."

Yes very disturbing! The past that really disturbed me is when he took everything the black guy had and left him naked. Ouch! That book won the Pulitzer prize for fiction which to me was surprising because to me at least, it went in the opposite direction of the climate alarmists, what would happen if CO2 disappeared.

In the book or the movie for that matter McCarthy doesn’t exactly explain what happened to the earth, but to me it was clear that the CO2 level dropped as there are many plants that can live without direct sunlight. In this world there are no plants, nothing alive except for humans

The left doesn’t seem to understand the current CO2 percentage is 0.04% If it ever reached 0.02% we are dead. C02 is not something we should be getting rid of, not that we can anyway the atmosphere is just too vast. We can no more change the CO2 level to any significant degree than we can turn the oceans yellow by peeing in them, it’s ludicrous.

A colder climate would also be stormier, more unpredictable, and more violent. Especially if the Democrat/Gates plan for cooling the planet were attempted. Debris diminishing sunlight would cool the polar regions more than the tropics. Increased temperature differences would cause more storms, and more powerful storms.

Unintended consequences would be creating a vent that releases Earths precious water into space wherever the reflected light pierces the atmosphere

Any solution to global warming necessarily needs either global support, or a superpower able to impose its will globally. We have neither right now.

Further to this, any manmade global climate change action will necessarily have both winners and lovers. No nation will agree to accepting droughts, floods, or wildfires, so the globalists will have to pay off the lovers with bribes and subsidies, and of course those bribes will be scooped up by corrupt politicians, leaving the populations poorer, hungrier, and more desperate. War, famine, disaster will necessarily result.

And that is if the climate changing technology works as intended, which it almost certanly won’t.

Compared to anything we can come up with, volcanoes and geysers are more abundant in SO2.

Oh, just great! Our incompetent government is planning on spraying aerosols into the stratosphere. What could possibly go wrong?

“How dare they. The can screw around with their bicycles, and eating worms and bugs, but they have no right to interfere with the sunlight. That IS nature. That IS natural. It is just the way God created it, perfect and without error. These are the same fools who want to put diapers on cows and give cows chemicals to stop them from burping!”

Amen, brother!

Easy to do: just start burning coal with sulfur, without the scrubbers.

I have a plan to slow down the rotation of the earth so people will have more daylight to charge their solar panels.

Well we could run all the windmills backwards to slow the rotation of the Earth which would make longer days, thus buying more time to prevent climate change. We could take the 8.27 years left and aim for 16.54 years!
