Cruise stocks soar to pace the S&P 500, as Norwegian is upgraded to buy In this article:
^GSPC -0.33%
CUK +10.05%
RCL +11.48%
NCLH +11.61%
Shares of cruise operators were the top-3 gainers in the S&P 500 (SPX) in afternoon trading Wednesday, with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH) getting bullish backing from UBS on the back of upbeat bookings data. UBS analyst Robin Farley raised Norwegian’s rating to buy, after being at neutral since before the pandemic. Farley said the company’s “significant improvement” in bookings in the company’s third-quarter preview shows that Norwegian has caught up to the other cruise lines in occupancy, while still keeping prices above of 2019 levels.

Love Boat song by Jack Jones
Love won’t hurt anymore
It’s an open smile on a friendly shore.
The love boat soon will be making another run
The love boat promises something for everyone
Set a course for adventure,
Your mind on a new romance.
Love won’t hurt anymore
It’s an open smile on a friendly shore.
It’s love! it’s love! it’s love!
It’s the love boat-ah! it’s the love boat-ah!
One day isn’t a trend…
It also ‘helps’ in this situation, that the dollar is so ‘strong’. Similar for Japan, the yen is weak; thus Japan expects a tourism boom this year and next.
Too late to jump on cruise stocks with both feet now. Time was when stocks were much lower.
I am expecting 90%+ full ship in January 2023 on NCL.
My previous 5 cruises within last 12 months were barely half full.
The Princess ships’ horns play that as they leave port the first day.
Glad I put FReepers in a romantic mood by my post.

Well, bookings are indicative of future economic conditions. So somebodies may think that 4Q or 1Q ‘23 rate hikes are out of play.
Note — the new Real Love Boat TV series — IS TRASH !!
Nothing more than Bachelorette or other social media crap.
Good for you. Make up for lost time. My wife and I did 5 cruises during last 12 months, all were bargain prices, and no crowds on ship since all 5 were barely half full. So there was some benefit to getting the jabs. Both of us had zero adverse effects from the jabs.
Japan just opened back up. I’ve been following a YouTube channel called Abroad in Japan and there’s a lot of beautiful country there. What amazed me is how much empty land there is, everything seems to be centered in the cities.
Very beautiful. The countryside is dying though. Japan is a nursery home with trains and robots.
Yeah, I think I might have read that somewhere before...
But thanks for the cruising well wishes. We're anxious to get back to it.

We’ve not found the bottom yet…
NYC wants to rent a cruise ship to house illegal invaders....
Wasn’t tempted to watch. Thanks.
With almost 50 cruises under my belt, one thing I can say for sure, there are some crappy ships with every cruise Line.
For example Carnival Elation...or some of the old NCL ships which are smallish and old. NCl might as well make some money renting it to illegals. One benefit will be less crime in cities. But tax payers will get the bill.
I really hope either Trump or DeSantis will be the next president. Biden is destroying the economy and creating crime and importing more illegals by the millions.
No one knows where the bottom will be. My guess is in 2023.
But 5 years from now, there will be good profit with todays prices.
