That’s not quite what is happening here. The SC just said that the decision which ruled that the ballots could be counted was invalid. So now Pennsylvania is counting those ballots in violation of the written law, and without a court decision authorizing them to do so. So after they count them, they are open to being sued over it, and they won’t have much of a defense.

A SCOTUS ruling means nothing if no one has "standing" to complain when it is violated. It becomes a meaningless right without a remedy.
