Biden, Storyteller in Chief, Spins Yarns That Often Unravel. President Biden has been unable to break himself of the habit of embellishing narratives to weave a political identity.

Standing in front of Floridians who had lost everything during Hurricane Ian, President Biden on Wednesday recalled his own house being nearly destroyed 15 years ago: “We didn’t lose our whole home, but lightning struck and we lost an awful lot of it,” he said.

Mr. Biden has mentioned the incident before, once saying that he knows what it’s like “having had a house burn down with my wife in it.”

In fact, news reports at the time called it little more than “a small fire that was contained to the kitchen” and quoted the local Delaware fire chief as saying “the fire was under control in 20 minutes.”

The story is not an isolated example of embellishment.

The exaggerated biography that Mr. Biden tells includes having been a fierce civil rights activist who was repeatedly arrested. He has claimed to have been an award-winning student who earned three degrees. And last week, speaking on the hurricane-devastated island of Puerto Rico, he said he had been “raised in the Puerto Rican community at home, politically.”

For more than four decades, Mr. Biden has embraced storytelling as a way of connecting with his audience, often emphasizing the truth of his account by adding, “Not a joke!” in the middle of a story. But Mr. Biden’s folksiness can veer into folklore, with dates that don’t quite add up and details that are exaggerated or wrong, the factual edges shaved off to make them more powerful for audiences.

Mr. Biden’s instances of exaggeration and falsehood fall far well short of those of his predecessor, who during four years in office delivered what the Washington Post fact checker called a “tsunami of untruths” and CNN described as a “staggering avalanche of daily wrongness.”

The only news is that this was in the NYT. Another big Biden lie has been that his first wife and their daughter was killed by a drunk driver, when the truck driver was never charged with this and his wife was at fault in the accident. I'm sure Freepers can list more Biden lies.

It is news that it is the NYT. This means to me that the Left is trying to jettison Biden and clear the way.

Like what? Did Trump ever claim he had multiple degrees, was the top of his class, had scholarship, grew up Puerto Rican, drove a Big Rig, had his house burn to the ground with his wife inside, claim you wont get COVID if you get vaccinated, etc...

Those are some whoppers right there!

Sort of. But of course they couldn't just resist reverting to form: "Mr. Biden’s instances of exaggeration and falsehood fall far well short of those of his predecessor"

He’s a liar, and they are calling him a liar, but unwilling to call him what he is. A liar.

The most egregious one in my opinion was when he slandered the man who was in the accident that killed his first wife, implying he had “drank his lunch” when in fact the accident was his wife’s fault. Just unforgivable, slimy, despicable behavior.

You have been told a million times now, Joe, DON’T EXAGGERATE.

When somebody goes to check your story, and it strains credulity, you stand to be further diminished. But since Joe is being Joe, maybe diminishment is the goal in mind.

A truly curious consistency of being inconsistent.

Joe doesn’t exaggerate, he lies. He has been repeating these lies for decades.

Biden’s a liar. All who identify with the RAT party are liars. Ergo, they all accept the lies of their party.

The punchline is right there: “Not as bad as Trump, and not a Nazi.” End of story.

Agreed. I delved into that episode, and it is just horrible.

His wife, probably distracted or whatever, just pulled out in front of the guy on the main road who had no chance to avoid her and wrecked his truck in the process. He also administered first aid.

He was not charged with anything, and by all accounts, carried this around (something for which he wasn’t responsible ) for the rest of his life.

And then this unspeakable stain of a human being Biden decided, for some perverse reason, to use him to gather political points in some way.

Or perhaps he just loves to lie.

Either way, Biden and his blood are despicable low-lifes no matter how you cut it, and he is the same person he was back then, and that black, evil slander of an innocent man for a piddling political gain speaks volumes.

The accounts Ive read indicate he was fully aware that Biden claimed many times he’d “drunk his lunch,” and that it ruined his life to be an innocent man under that slanderous cloud. Slander is small potatoes for someone who has turned his back on his own blood granddaughter. Joes a lowlife, pure and simple

Is it a lie if Dementia Joe thinks it happened?

At the rate his dementia is progressing, within two years Brandon will no longer be able to read what is written on his teleprompter or parrot what he is told to say in his earwig earpiece.
