Democrat Nury Martinez resigned as president of the Los Angeles City Council on Monday, one day after a racist leaked audio recording was released. Martinez issued a statement regarding her resignation as council president, although she will remain a council member.
“I take responsibility for what I said and there are no excuses for those comments. I’m sorry,” she said. Martinez and Councilman Kevin de León faced widespread protests and calls for their resignation after they were caught on the recording making racist comments about Councilmember Mike Bonin, a gay white man, and his adopted black son. The conversation also included Los Angeles County Federation of Labor President Ron Herrera. The meeting was largely focused on redistricting the city, which happens once a decade.
I wasn’t saying the current fiction/code words/taboos are right, but rather pointing out the absurdities we find ourselves in.
I wonder if BLM will camp outside her home.
Everyone in LA knows there’s a power struggle between blacks and Latinos for control in that city’s politics. Karen Bass, who’s running in the mayoral election on November 8th, is black and I think the release of the audio was completely intentional to help her at the polls.
No, NOT the children, but you can’t help seeing all the videos of grown men clothed in Black spandex smashing, crashing, axing inside stores, jumping around like puppets on a string...fleeing, running away from the horror they cause.
That’s when the certain members of the human race look like animals...there is no better way to describe their actions.

I understand that and agree. Any argumentative tone should be chalked up to my poor writing style.
My intent was only to point out how some of us assist in creating and empowering so many of these absurdities.
Somewhere along the line you must have wandered into a thread around here where someone says something that may be questionable and then a whole group of virtue signaling fools have to show up and post just to make sure they are counted on “the right side”. Theyre playing the game just in case the dealer is watching and dont realize they have done more damage to things they claim to revere and want to protect than anyone else.
Have you looked in on some of these Ukraine/Russia threads? Theres an elephant in the room and in thread after thread so many of those participating in the dance are so careful not to bump into it because then someone would have to acknowledge it. Its obvious that they see it because they dance right up to it and then pretend its not there and turn away. Theyre just playing the game, more concerned what others might think, wanting to be seen as on “the right side”. Fine by me, I just wish I wouldnt have to hear them crying when they have to stop pretending that they didnt know that the game was rigged because they played the stupid game but now we all get saddled with the stupid prizes.
Mexicans can be racist too, just like other races. My nephew is white, married to a black woman. She was returning from a vacation in Mexico with their young son (mixed black and white but looks hispanic), and the Mexican authorities detained her and accused her of kidnapping her son. They wouldn't listen to her pleas that he was indeed her son, until my nephew arrived and straightened out the authorities (nephew is in law enforcement, a sheriff's deputy). Many Mexicans don't like blacks, while many others are fully in acceptance of blacks among them.
A Republican saying less would get pressured to resign from office. Democrat just put on a show of falling a little bit and all will be forgiven.
This is what anti racism means for Democrats.

I think you're on to something there. Some of the RINO are too eager to throw their colleagues under the bus to show off their self-righteousness. Are there any Democrats who do the same? When I first followed politics about 55-60 years ago, there were some Democrats who were decent people but those numbers have dwindled to almost zero. Now politics is more important than anything else.

It was a rhetorical question. I thought you could figure that out.
The phraseology is stupid. Like, “The gun murdered so-and-so”. Guns don’t murder and recordings aren’t racist.
