Not that it matters, but his father, while having an Irish father, was also Jewish, having a Jewish mother himself.

Well yes, he is 100% Jewish according to Jewish law. But that's just one group's opinion.
He might be only 25% Jewish according to the law of genetics.
If he were a Catholic convert, he'd be 100% Catholic according to Canon Law.
And were he baptized by Mormons after death, he'd be 100% Mormon according to Mormon Law.
Yes, the Mormons have this curious practice of baptizing non-Mormons after they die. I suppose they see it as a good deed. They actually baptized Anne Frank, so according to Mormon Law, Frank is now 100% Mormon.
