It's a message of patience as voters are buffeted by persistent inflation, fears of a recession and the prospect of rising energy prices in the closing weeks of the campaign season when they will determine the fate of vulnerable Democrats and control of Congress.

Patience is all worn out Joe. People are going broke.
That distinction is lost on most people.
Unlike party animals who scratched, clawed and lied their way to the top, Donald Trump arrived without political debts and promised to drain DC of those whose purposes were wealth and power rather than the welfare of these United States.
He had to be destroyed.
If DeSantis runs for POTUS this time we will lose because we need Florida to win. There is nobody that can replace him yet.
Reagan wasn’t ready in 1968. I think for him to be a viable POTUS candidate he had to get those two terms as Governor under his belt.

I agree. He appears to be a really good Governor, much better than Mike Pence was for Indiana. I say that because he was the Gov here and he was a weak and a total company type guy.
Pushing DeSantis too soon will ruin his chances recognition wise and leave us vulnerable in Florida. I haven’t heard of anyone up and coming as a replacement for DeSantis if he would run.
The fact that Charlie the Tuna is the best that democrats have to offer kind of leads me to believe DeSantis is going to get his second term.
All of that said, the way life is shaking out anymore, who knows what will happen or who will be viable a year from now?
Xiden and his handlers can no more grow an economy by spending than Roosevelt and the New Dealers brought us out of the Depression by gooberment spending.
I have just watched “War Factories” again to be reminded how it was free enterprise that brought us out of the Depression and allowed victory in WWII.
The British emerged from the Depression much faster than the US did by sound fiscal policy and tightening their belts. It was they who actually financed large parts of the start-up of war production here. The P-51 was created at their behest as but one example. They had money, they were recovered and fighting for survival. We on the other hand were mired in the New Deal still.
No economy has ever gotten better or prosperous on huge gooberment debt or spending. There is no room for their waste in prosperity. Neither is there room for obscene profit in enterprises that produce nothing tangible.
When?
It takes a 33% increase to recover from just a 25% fall in value. When was the last time that happened?
The covid insanity delivered a dreadful blow to all of us, the people who voted for xiden tripled down on that.

What caused the energy price increase is gooberment policy. After 6 or more years of nearly flat decreased energy investment this bunch of turds just made the environment for investment worse by threats and policy. After that they made it worse again by starting a war.
We were in the crapper and going down under carter and it took Reagan years to recover from that.
obummer kept us in the crapper for 8 long years. He stifled the economy with policy odious to growth and productivity.
