I've known several Down's workers.
They were always a joy to be around.
They may not be able to do everything, but what they do is done well and cheerfully.
The grocery stores in my area hire people with these issues to be baggers, cart collectors, etc.
They’ve always been polite, cheerful and dutiful.
For many years my mom trained Down’s and other disabled young people to work in restaurants and other businesses. Most ended up living in group homes and when the worker misbehaved and needed correction the home would not allow him or her to go to work for a couple of days. They loved working so much that this discipline was always effective in correcting the improper behavior. Compare that to most able bodied people that see work itself as punishment.
My brother was a CEO of a mental heath center. One of the establishments they had was a coffee shop. Many of the employees had downs. They had the best record for attendance of all employees. Hated to miss a day of work.
