BUT if the "truck explosion" happened on the outer segment (the one in the water) and also caused the rail line above to catch fire, why wasn't the segment in-between destroyed also?

Was it? On the face of it it looks that way, but it may be misleading.
And if it was a truck, whose was the truck, what was it carrying, how did they get it past security (alleged to be stringent), who was driving it, and how was it set off.
If Ukrainian covert operatives could pull this off they could do a lot else as well.
Yeah that tells us who did it, whether it was a bomb inside the truck or a missile strike, a drone, or suicide bomb. Or even a Russian cigarette. No wait, it doesn’t does it?
The video showing the truck was not correct. There was a boat under the bridge that carried the charges. The truck was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Several sources showed a different angle.
Video from RR bridge underside closed circuit TV shows the bow of some kind of vessel edging into view just as the panel truck went over the bridge section. then explosion.
It was not a truck bomb— it blew from beneath the road bridge.
On telegram— Russia reports the rail bridge is back up and running— video of train going over/past.
