Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro has said he agrees that Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February “would not have happened” if Donald Trump was still U.S. President.
Bolsonaro, himself dubbed the ‘Tropical Trump’ or ‘Trump of the Tropics’ during and after his first successful presidential run in 2018, made the remarks in an interview with Brazilian news magazine Veja.

Facts!!!!!
I’ll second that
The Deep State hated that. Now we are back with our Forever Wars and this one could go nuclear, so that's fabulous.
The Left knows this too. But they’ll never admit it.
But the mean tweets are gone.
So there’s that, at least!
What would have stopped it?
What would have stopped it?
Steel balls.
I wouldn’t say the invasion was “full-scale”. If it was, I think the war would already be over. It was piecemeal,at best, and seemingly poorly planned and thought out.
Russia invaded with a force smaller than Ukraine’s current active duty army, at the time, and should have been able to predict Europe’s and the USA’s response.
Do you know, it is hard to say, exactly, but Trump just has this kind of sixth sense, to know how to approach potentially brewing situations of this nature. The baddies just simply start behaving more rationally and less aggressively when he is in their orbit.
✔ Correct answer.
The dems actually want things like this to happen. obama would have had us go into Syria if Russia hadn’t made a stand. They did great damage to Libya which wasn’t a threat to anyone.
Soros and his bunch caused much of the havoc in the Ukraine. A war may begin with a republican in office but it’s usually things democrats did that caused us to go to war.
On which side. What reason did Trump ever give for supporting the Ukraine or opposing Putin? Trump claims a deal was possible but what deal was he offering?
I think it was in fact full-scale. I think we’re learning that the Russian army was never as big as we thought it was. Maybe it wasn’t as big as Putin thought it was.
That could be true.
Also, Russia was loaded with Soviet stuff so they didn’t have to build as much between 1990-2022... And even that old stuff (trucks, ammo, supplies, uniforms, etc) would have been fine—IF properly maintained.
It wasn’t maintained at all because of massive graft and corruption. Their attitude was that no one would mess with them so they didn’t need to be diligent. The idea that all future enemies would be like Chechnya and Georgia.
So far, the Russians have been a paper tiger.
There were many reasons the Russians thought they could use the smaller force. Many were based on politics that Putin himself had pushed thru the Duma. He did and still has to consider a bunch of domestic and international issues that affect Russian force projection.
But the Russian army of 2021 is not the same as the Red army of the Soviets.
As Rumsfeld once said, you fight with the army you have, not the one you want.
Minsk accords. Steinmeyer formula.
Very nicely written. Maybe, Putin and his Allies, invaded with the army they thought they had.
Neither Minsk accord halted the fighting. What would Trump have done next?
Steinmeyer formula.
After dozens of changes and violations Putin invaded anyway. What did Trump do to strengthen the formula?
Who changed and violated?
