It wasn’t a bank, but a private vault company

None of the people who owned the boxes has been charged after almost five years of investigating; various agencies concluded "the problem was the business itself," court documents said.

And that little factoid was buried even further down in the article.

Not one word in the article that a single one of these safe-deposit box renters (not owners) were ever even suspected of any wrong doing.

Probably why the FBI targeted it.

Licensed banks are already under the thumb of the federal government.

They have to freeze safety deposit boxes, and inventory them, if the federal government orders them to do so.

Yes, and the FedMob can simply remove the contents of our bank accounts electronically if they so choose.

Like their spiritual ancestors the Gestapo and the SS, the FBI is into heavy duty art and valuable theft under the color of law. Remind me what happened to Nazi war criminals who said they were “following orders”. Why I believe they were hanged. The Nazis also thought they were untouchable since like the FBI they had the full power of the state behind them. They were wrong. Let’s hope the FBI is wrong too.

Maybe everyone should vote for a more Constitutional government.

While that would be nice, the same morons in my neighborhood who had Biden/Harris signs up last election now have signs up for the Democrat candidates. I guess they think 10$ inflation, higher taxes $10 a gallon and power costs that will go up by one or more orders of magnitude, rampant crime, open borders are a good thing. Who knows what if anything goes on in their minds.

They did avoid banks.

Sadly if you have property that the police decide they want, they will take it.

These kind of cases make a big splash but the average amount taken under CAF is $600.

We’re coming to the point where we need a new government. The Kenyan boy and his pal Holder screwed this one up. BAD.

This will allow the FBI or any police agency can seize everything say in an apartment building because they suspect the owner is involved in criminal activity.

They find loot buried from thousands of years ago every so often.

You die your loot just stays there until someone else stumbles onto it. Or just rots away.

Just like any method there can be problems using just one.

Answer: Socialism in Action. Under Socialism you own nothing. The State owns everything and may take back anything that was deemed you at any time: Your House, Your Job, Your Children.

The State here is California. Welcome to Socialism California.
