Maine Democrat Gov. Janet Mills is scrambling to stem political damage from revelations five weeks before the election that her administration was teaching students in an online curriculum that “MAGA” is racist.

Both in Tuesday’s debate and in her campaign advertising, the vulnerable Democrat has attempted to fend off allegations about education improprieties from her Republican opponent, former Gov. Paul LePage.

Gov. Paul LePage has “appeared” on the Howie Carr show on occasion.

He sounds very reasonable.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

He’ll have to overcome Rigged Choice Voting by getting more than 50 percent of the first choice votes.

Spent the summer in central and northern ME: not a single Mills sign in sight. LePage signs everywhere.

Doesn’t mean he’ll win, but does indicate enthusiasm of the base.

Portland ME which is fairly liberal and part of District 1 CD will provide enough votes to re-elect Mills unfortunately.

This time around Rigged Choice will have no effect. It’s a 2- candidate race, no spoilers.

A lot of liberal lives and businesses were upended by Mills’ lockstep Covid policies in Southern Maine. She’s been laying low, hardly campaigning, mostly online ads. Let’s see how many will turn out for Auntie Mills.

I thought LePage was popular in Maine.

For Pete’s sake, that Mills creature is a monster. How the heck did she get elected in the first place?

I will of course be voting for Governor LePage and depending on my knee, I will be working the election as a clerk.

Paul LePage was elected in 2010 and 2014.

Because of term limits, he couldn’t run again in 2018.

Shawn Moody, a businessman who owns a chain of auto collision
centers, was the GOP nominee for governor in 2018.

He’s a decent man, but did not run a very good campaign, unfortunately.

Paul LePage actually did better than expected in CD 1 in 2014.

Here’s hoping a GOP wave puts him over the top.

In Maine, Rank Choice Voting does not apply to Governor or other statewide races.

It only applies to the two U.S. Senate seats and to the two U.S. House seats, and the presidency. In other words, only to federal elections.

A judge ruled in 2018 that the federal Constitution makes no mention of a plurality, whereas the Maine Constitution DOES mention a plurality.

Thay is why RCV only applies to federal elections in Maine.

Janet has big utilities monies big healthcare dollars and big law and insurance dollars.

She is tough pragmatic and leftist.

I have only VISITED Maine, but I REALLY HATE TO SEE WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO IT.

And that idiot of a Senator...Collins...could have helped keep Maine the traditionalist state that it was...AND SHE DID NOT HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A LEADER...and instead became a follower.

I can’t help thinking that a stronger senator could have helped in MAINE.

Oh, well..

Grew up and lived in Maine for decades; loved LePage, but with the dominant media’s love affair with all things liberal, I think he has a very steep hill to climb this time around.
