A newly launched Ukrainian hotline offering Russian soldiers a chance to surrender — and stay alive — has been fielding thousands of calls from desperate draftees, according to Ukrainian officials.
Andriy Yusov, a representative of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, said in a recent interview with Voice of America that thousands of enemy troops have reached out to the “I Want to Live” program via phone or online chat to give up their arms.
Yusov said the hotline has been receiving offers of surrender at a rate of hundreds a day from soldiers already fighting in Ukraine — including those recently mobilized as part of Vladimir Putin’s partial draft — but also from those who hadn’t even yet been called up, but expect to be in the near future.
“They are interested in how to safely surrender in Ukraine,” Yusov said.
It’s been reported the hotline so far has received more than 2,000 appeals from Russian soldiers and their families.

Now show the responses made by the Ukraine supporters to the posters who oppose this neocon war. Both sides are doing it and it’s disingenuous of you to only point out half the posts.
Is fascist propaganda, tovarisch.
What’s his avatar on Freerepublic?
Go back to WWII. Patton wants to send the Third Army on a demanding mission to engage more enemy soldiers than any past American general. But he gets handed a memo that a majority of the soldiers disagree and are going to quit unless he reconsiders. Gen. Bradley: "Rewrite the orders and add some crowd appeal. Make it more popular with the troops."
Ukrainians aren’t neocons and they’re not fighting for neocons.
Amazing. How long can any army survive that sort of thing?
There is no “time” to exchange for land.
There is logic behind the Ukrainian offensives.
The Ukrainian advances are:
a. Reducing availability of logistics routes for any Russian attacks, see the loss of the direct route from the primary logistics hub of Belgorod.
b. Adding buffer zones in case of the same - see the reduction in potential lines of advance into the Kharkiv region, pushing the outpost line a long way from critical zones, plus flank defenses on river lines;
c. In the Kherson region the elimination of the Dneiper bridgehead will much reduce the Ukrainian forces required to hold this long front, and so increase the available Ukrainian reserves. The Dneiper is a very formidable obstacle.
“I’m seeing a high correlation between those all in on the vaxx and those all in on Ukraine.”
What they have in common is both groups are caught up in and believe the media narrative.
The validity of the points should be hashed out without feeling those with a different viewpoint should be viewed a certain way and without distracting the issue with insults and ego contests.
It seems to me that is not only one "side" that is contributing to making certain topics on FR look like a youtube comment page.
Is this a new Monty Python sketch?
actually, i think the russkies have figured out how to use their hundreds of thousands of new draftees to whip the ukes: overwhelm them with surrenders, so many that the ukes won’t be able to feed, clothe, and house them ...
That’s paranoid.
Another angry Putin Stooge.
Losing does that.
👍
Put some ice on your crybaby loser butt-hurt.
Berlin_freeper was a vaxxor? LMAO that confirms that he’s an idiot, as if we needed more proof.President Trump said that all eligible Americans should get vaccinated.

Berlin_Freezer
Speaking of WW2,
At least give Ukraine credit for lasting 7+ months and kicking Russian azz.
You know, unlike France who lost in 6 weeks during WW2.
Sure and Germans aren’t going to be facing blackouts, job loss and freeze this winter.Let's say you are correct. The next year will be better for them.
