If she collected cans for recycling she could feel good about being broke and saving the environment

“But being stupid is like being dead, you don’t know it, and you’re just a problem for everyone else.”

Actually if you are stupid and dead you are no longer a problem.

An academic retiring from a state job, boo hoo.
If she didn't put in enough years to get a pension (which is not mentioned), whose fault is that?

A flat period in the market causes sequence of return risk in a retirement planning scenario. A bad start of returns at the beginning of retirement can cause a huge difference in how long one’s money lasts.

People live to 90 now. Retire at 60 and you have plenty of time, but maybe not enough money. I intend to work until they have to pull the maggots from my carcass. I am 62 now, and I am not afraid of competition from 20 year olds...

That’s because there is no competition from 20 year olds.

You stand head and shoulders above probably 95% of them these days.

“I’ve been very pleased with the legislation Congress has passed, such as the Inflation Reduction Act, because I know it will help our economy in the long run, especially lowering the cost of prescription medicine. But so far, I haven’t felt the benefits of it.”

Nor will you.

You still haven’t woken up to the fact that democrats lie about everything.

Enjoy your delusions.

"People who get their news from the fakestream media actually believe the so-called Inflation Reduction Act is going to benefit them and reduce inflation. This woman is due for some serious reality checks."

She obviously learned nothing from the so-called "Affordable Care Act."

[I’ve been very pleased with the legislation Congress has passed, such as the Inflation Reduction Act, because I know it will help our economy in the long run …]

My goodness. There really are people THAT stupid?

Wait, don’t answer that.

She heard the “name” on CNN and MSNBC and believed that’s what it really was.

Good gosh.

It’s scary that there are people as stupid as the author. I mean, seriously - she obviously doesn’t know about that “legislation” and what it really is.

Yeah, obviously.

I just can’t believe these people.

Not just Joe, Dems and Republicans alike during the last 40 years or irresponsible spending, exploding health care costs, ZIRP polices by The Fed, and a misguided foreign policy by idiots trying to spread Democracy.

What’s even scarier is she’s this stupid and was “program coordinator and academic adviser at the University of New Mexico’s School of Engineering”.

You do realize, don't you, that the components of the Dow Jones Industrial Index are frequently swapped out, right?

This is like touting a drink as an "Elixir of Immortality" because you are administering it to a group of people who never die (because you quietly "retire" the oldsters and replace them with youngsters).

The graph you presented is a classic example of "Survivorship Bias."

Dear heavens......

I have an aunt and uncle in New Mexico. Uncle is a very smart guy.........and, full-blown liberal, apparently.

My aunt was singing the praises of MSNBC or CNN when I last spoke with her, about 9 years ago.

I was speechless.
