The WSJ published this Friday an exclusive entitled "Cuba makes an unusual request for US aid after the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian."
The news explained that the Cuban government had requested “emergency assistance” from Washington and that the administration of President Joe Biden was in contact with the authorities on the island to find out how much help was needed.

Just say NO.
Sure. As long as The Big Guy gets his customary 10% cut.
Let them ask Russia. Putin is flush with oil money. Florida gets our money.
Works for me, as long as they agree to accept AOC as Czarina.
Maybe they heard that idiot Harris and figured if DC was bypassing white SWFL, they could just send the “colored only” cash on down Cuba way.
Ask Castreau Jr. up in Canada. We have enough welfare cases.
Interesting. The impact of this storm ha been kept lose to the vest and out of the news. It was only through friends who are Canadians from the Maritimes that I found that Ian storm surge did extensive damage to Prince Edward Island and to Cape Bretton Island and Newfoundland’s south coast. No real casualty count in Florida and it was by chance I saw reports that the storm caused heavy damage to New Smyrna Beach on the Atlantic coast as it exited the state. Very curious considering the usual media hysteria over storm damage.
Biden is asking Cuba for economic aid?
They are experiencing severe shortages. Quick, send them our communists.
Cuba is chock full of women and minorities. It must have been hardest hit of all.
Not only that, but several walking tours in Gettysburg had to be cancelled because of rain.
Cuba will get aid before white US citizens.
Very smart, this was no shit heavy coastal flooding and PEI really took a blow. What is is it with wiseacres like you that think some stupid remark is witty or improves this site . There is far to much half assed ‘nuke em’ comments and other shallow foolish and ignorant posts here as is.
You’re welcome.
Sure, why not? We’re only $31 trillion in the hole, and spending money like there’s no tomorrow.
That is just the sort of shallow stupid remark I wrote about. Some things are substantive and important, joking around like some dumb kid only degrades this board and there is far too much of it on here these days.
Maybe Obama will order him to make it the 58th state.
Why not?
We’re sending billions to the commies in Ukraine.
A real statesman would approach Cuba’s leadership with some
sort of summit, where it could be negotiated that Cuba would
swing around and become a lot less hostile to the U. S., in
fact going capitalist, and allowing free and open elections.
We shouldn’t just slam the door, but a president like Trump
could pull off a North Korea type trip and hopefully flip
the situation down there.
Cuba is a disaster zone, even in the best of times.
It would be a good deal if we just paid off the current
leaders, and provided a method of open elections down
there without the gold guard.
Find a nation that would take the old guard, and start
all over in Cuba.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the Cubans would desire
being the 51st state in time.
A lot of them have wanted to come to the U. S. Lets see
to it that the U. S. way of life goes there.
