Stuff like this is why I have home solar. If I could drill and process my own fossil fuels I would, but I can't. The one energy source the Dims can't regulate away from me is the sunlight shining on my property.

The reason my home solar provided all the power I needed in September, including charging the EV, is because the only 2 people managing it are God and myself. Literally the only power I pulled from the grid all month was a tiny trickle of 100W to let my utility know I'm still here, I'm not off-grid, don't disconnect me.

It won't be that way in the winter (I predict I'll be 70% independent for 2 months in the winter, based on how well I did last winter before I upgraded the system). But I can live with that.

See, it's not just an argument of which type of energy is better. Part of the argument is who manages it. The Dims destroy everything they touch, including energy.

And why I am seriously considering going off grid.
Not sure why it took me so long to realize it ..it’s the closest you can be to free in America. Minus prop tax and excessive income tax
At least until the “government” decides to make it “illegal”.

The year 2030 is going to be a disaster

In some states going off-grid is illegal. But it often depends on what you mean by off-grid. For example, if you still buy a water service you might be legal in your state to go off-grid from power.

At some point, a string of extensions of shutdown dates runs out. The plants reach the end of their lives and there won’t be any engineers who know how to maintain them or operators who know how to run them.

At that point, they will either have to live with their green wet dream or import Chinese or Indian plants, constructors, engineers and operators. These plants came on line in 2011, so they have 30 years of life left. That’s a lot of can-kicking left to do before they surrender to the Chinese.

I wonder then, if the German government will stop coal production altogether to keep the coal companies from selling coal to say the Polish?

Maybe fur trapping will make a comeback

Let me know when there's a good market for groundhog hides.

Well,I will have to seriously consider becoming an outlaw, then.
You definitely can not do it anywhere that has restrictions like most gated communities..or dumb ass hoas..and probably town limits..which put restrictions on everything.
But if you own a piece of recreational land a little out of town they can’t tell you you can not camp out on your property once in awhile.
Usually 14 consecutive days.
Although,no one is actually counting.

So they are gonna “phase out lignite”? And replace it with what...windmills and solar cells ain’t gonna cut it.

Germany has quite a bit of frackable shale...

And maybe, just maybe, they need to reconsider shutting down their nuclear fission plants.

I retired to a 55+ community in San Antonio, Texas (Del Webb Hill Country Retreat). People here are installing roof-top solar and battery storage left and right. No problem from the HOA at all. I wanted to close in the fence around my back yard, which needed HOA approval..of 12 projects being scrutinized for approval, 4 were solar.

I am thinking about it myself.

So Germany still hasn’t learned their lesson? I read last month that they designated nuclear and coal as renewables so they could legally use them to offset the loss of Russian gas. Who’s lying?
