Few nations have as deep a sense of their own history as the Russians. On the basis of this tendentious tract about historic 'unity' of Russians and Ukrainians that President Putin justified his invasion of an independent neighboring state.
But another word, also with great resonance in Russian history, now hangs over the Kremlin's flailing military campaign. And that word is: MUTINY.
Remarkably, it was raised on Moscow's main TV channel by the woman described as Putin's propagandist-in-chief, Margarita Simonyan, on the state of the 'special military operation' to a Russian audience.
She was raging about the incompetence which Putin's 'partial mobilisation' was carried out, and the gross inadequacy of the provisions being supplied to the hundreds of thousands being called up to fight: 'Students, people with serious illnesses, single mothers, people as old as 62 . . . and being handed rotten things, no helmets or body armor.'
CRITICISM
She warned the heads of the armed forces: 'Comrade Commanders: don't anger the people!'
And now came the reference to historic precedent. Simonyan told the 'commanders' to remember the mutiny on the Battleship Potemkin during the Russo-Japanese war of 1905, provoked by the fact all the meat available to the crew had been maggot-infested.
'Let me remind you that in 1905, small things like that led to the first mutiny of an entire military unit in the history of our country. Is that what you want?'
The Potemkin mutiny was put down, but privations and humiliations linked to that conflict led to uprisings in Russia — known as the 1905 Revolution. Lenin and the Bolsheviks saw the Potemkin mutiny as inspiration for their own seizure of power in 1917.
She exempted Putin from all criticism praising her boss for taking 'the very heavy load of responsibility solely upon himself'.

Lol. Classic Soviet doublespeak. She’s fingering Putin as the single point-of-failure for Russia’s problems. We call that damning with faint praise.
If they could debunk the story, they would. But they can't so the Putin fanbois chant "propaganda" "Soros" "globalhomo".
This is a Putin tool, trying to channel the Russian people's anger at the Charlie Foxtrot that is Putin's mobilization against people other than Putin, so that Putin can fire/arrest/have them fall out a window, and pose as the chap who is putting things right.
But since Putin Fanbois can never admit that things aren't going according to Putin's Cunning Plan™ they can't admit that there are problems with the mobilization that need putting right, and so find themselves advocating positions even more extreme than those of the official Russian propaganda.
Once an abrasive chump, always an abrasive chump. Go get a checkup from the neck up.
“If they could debunk the story, they would. But they can’t so the Putin fanbois chant “propaganda” “Soros” “globalhomo”......This is a Putin tool.”
I can despise the WEF and globohomo, and still be anti-Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Putin-Russia had a great deal selling their gaz to Germany. And letting Germany benefit by being a number one manufacturing and tech superpower. That even Russia bought many items from that went into their Nord Stream pipelines. Siemens controls for example.
But Putin’s primitive greed for Ukie oil, gas, farmland obliterated this deal with Germany and Europe. TALK about messing up a good thing!
The US-Mexico border is an invasion that serves the goals of the New Liberal Order and their Rules Based Order. This is a global asymmetric war on many simultaneous fronts.
I am not disagreeing with you about the border but it is not the only issue. China is also a very important matter and is much more complicated than the border. The border can be solved by finishing the wall, enforcing immigration laws and rounding up and deporting illegals. Compared to China this is a simple matter...
The moment a Russian tank commander comprehends his military does not support him. That he is simply being sent to the front to die.
