3 Oct: Yahoo: Bolsonaro Has Momentum Ahead of Brazil Runoff: Analyst Reaction
by Andrew Rosati and Isadora Calumby, Bloomberg
Thomas Traumann, a Rio de Janeiro-based political consultant and columnist:
This is a surprise. People underestimated Bolsonaro. Bolsonaro has momentum not only because he won important states like Sao Paulo and Rio, but also because of excellent results in congress...
Deysi Cioccari, a political science professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo
There is a strong Bolsonarist vote hidden, especially in the Sao Paulo countryside, but across the country in the smallest cities off the radar of polls
This explains the pro-Bolsonaro result despite Lula winning in the first round...
Alberto Ramos, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. economist
Pro-Bolsonaro and center-right candidates pulled a few high-profile surprises and overall performed significantly better than expected in gubernatorial and senate races...
Carlos Melo, a political scientist at the Insper University in Sao Paulo
All that is certain is that the far-right is extremely strong. And Jair Bolsonaro goes into the second round in a position of strength...

heard BBC radio today, upset their relentless anti-Bolsonaro programming hadn’t given Lula a first-round win. someone was being interviewed; said it would be easier for Bolsonaro to challenge results of the second round (as if he and BBC expected more shenanigans on Lula’s behalf). getting rid of Bolsonaro is still the aim of the FakeNewsMSM.
What an amazing coincidence that the polls once again vastly underestimate the support of the populist right candidate and overstate the support of the Leftist in yet another country.
I guess Dominion couldn’t make up the gap.
Trump beats the margin of error again (not necessarily the same thing as winning).

It’s hard to believe that any person of normal intelligence takes at face value ANYTHING the polls or the MSM throw out there. And the fact that so many do is why western countries are now self-destructing at warp speed.
There are Brazilian threads on Twitter analyzing the massive internet traffic going back and forth from Brazil to the US during the election.
Hurrah!
I was worried.
The Brazilians I know in the US were all voting Bolsonaro.
Excellent. The left hates this guy. Now he needs to give China the boot out of Brazil.
Lula is Portuguese for “squid”, a moniker the commie earned as a union arm twister.
He is also a convicted felon, having been imprisoned for corruption and fraud the last time he was president of Brasil.
The Brasilian Establishment media is 24/7 99% against Bolsonaro and pro-Lula.
No doubt congress will be investigating that.
Brazil and Thailand are THE investment markets for the next two years. I will be able to retire within a year regardless of who wins this election. The corporations in Br are more powerful than the government in practice. Imo the best market on the continent (maybe world) at this time. They raised their rates 2 years before the US did and are already able to dial them back some to assist GDP growth.
Round 2 on the 30th of October so they still have time. The commies will be out in full force.
Exactly the commie Lula is still in the lead, so this is by no means over. Its mind blowing he has the support he does, so if all the other third party voters don’t go Bolsonaro’s way Lula will still win this.
81 million votes? Sad dang situation. 😕
