The young and the elderly are getting hammered on the rental prices.
A retired friend, who is a widower had a nice one bedroom apt and was paying $1500/month rental. He had covid and when he got out of the hospital, his rent went to $2000. The apt manager told our friend that the owners of the apt were projecting $3000 per month for his apt.
Fortunately, he had family here, and they converted their garage into a grannie home for him.
One couple, who are like our older sister and brother, have 7 adult grandkids, who have good degrees and jobs. They are renting 2 homes and sharing the costs while living together.
I paid 4.95 last Friday.
On Monday, I was greeted to 5.65.
Yeah!
Just nominal increase...or another $15 buck per full tank out of my pocket.
