President Joe Biden claimed Thursday he spoke with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) about the federal government response to Hurricane Ian “four or five times” after initially resisting calling the governor personally.
The White House spent most of Tuesday defending the president for resisting making a personal phone call to DeSantis prior to the storm, despite previously doing so for other governors facing damaging hurricanes.
DeSantis told reporters Tuesday evening he had not heard from Biden personally, but that he would be “happy to brief the President if he’s interested in hearing what we’re doing in Florida.”

The red states apparently are the ones sending help and manpower to Florida at their own expense – Texas, Indiana, Georgia, NC, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tenn. Either search and rescue, state national guardsmen and in the case of Duke Energy and Kentucky Utilities, a bunch of linemen and other utility workers. No, no help from Martha’s Vinyard or Massachusetts, for that matter
He’s going to call DeSantis right after he talks to Rep. Jackie Walorski.
The red states will have to remember if a blizzard or ice storm hits the blue states. I remember NY demanding union dues from a crew of linemen from Alabama in order to assist. They left and drove to VA to help.

Any video of the senile Sleepy Joe puppet always reminds me of the youtube video of Thomas Sowell’s Senate testimony on behalf of Robert Bork’s SCOTUS nomination. After Sowell gives his testimony, Sen. Biden says something like (paraphrase): “So such-and-such is the case.” Sowell: “No Senator, as I just explained, the exact opposite is the case.” ... (back-and-forth discussion continues) ... Biden again: “So blah-blah-blah ...” Sowell: “No, it’s the reverse of that.” Biden: “Yeah that’s what I thought you thought.” (that’s Biden trying to pretend he’s actually understanding what Sowell is saying). Then Biden makes an obvious statement to which Sowell replies, Of course. Then he goes Deep Biden again and reaches another goofy conclusion, to which Sowell disagrees and explains what the truth of the matter actually is. Again, Biden says (paraphrase): “That’s what I thought too.” (That’s clueless Biden again trying to sound “smart” in front of all the TV cameras ... and that’s way back in the 80s when Biden was supposedly at the “top of his mental game.” LOL!)
