The price of a gallon of gasoline soared overnight in Los Angeles County, rising 16 cents from Wednesday into Thursday, exceeding $6 per gallon throughout the region and continuing a trend that has seen gasoline prices rise 70 cents in one week in the county.

(My notes from Alabama) -- According to my power utility's Recent Power Usage feature on their website, on the next bill they're charging 17.1¢/kWh (on top of the $15.60 flat monthly fees and taxes). That's up 28% from the 14.4 ¢/kWh they charged this time last year (October 2021 bill), which was already up 14% from October 2020.
That's an increase of 28% in 2 years.
Under my plan electricity prices will necessarily skyrocket. -- Obama

Hasn’t changed much here in western Colorado in almost a month. $3.77.

This has been happening up and down the coastal cities/counties in California and apparently into Oregon, this past week.
It is too early for our more expensive, so called winter blend.
Out on the west coast, are they blaming it on the hurricanes on the east coast? LOL
Local gas stations were at $6.59 for Regular and $6.99 for supreme.
Yup. We’ve been warned, uh I mean “notified” by NVEnergy that likely our prices will be increasing due to lack of supply of natural gas. Both for heating and running those evil power plants. Meanwhile tankers head overseas. 🤔🛳. Better hurry with those windmills and solar panels.
$3.07 in Alabama. It was under $1.70 this time in 2019 (I hate using 2020 as a base year for gas prices since demand was artificially low).
Here in Columbus, GA the Walmart branded station rose from $2.87 to $2.91. I think this was blamed on Ian. I am so glad I left the high gas prices of Ripoffistan aka CA.

And, of course, they are blaming Gorebull Warming.
It will be interesting to see what is happening now as the biggest generic gas company leveled out at $5.99 /yesterday evening 12-14 hours ago. They don’t show the prices on the internet until after lunch hours on most sites.
Just do your homework on your power habits each month. And don't fall for the trap of putting power onto the grid (ostensibly to make money selling power, but often it incurs fees making it more costly than helpful, plus you wouldn't have as much freedom for things like using your solar power when the grid power goes down).
$3.50 here in NE OK.

I’m seeing claims on the net that winter blend is cheaper than summer blend, starts in Oct/Nov....?
Here in central Illinois prices are creeping back up again, slowly but surely.
I'm glad for you. In some places it's going to be like an old magazine cartoon I saw once.
An employee pumping gas for the driver of a big car (that really dates this) said: "Sorry, sir, but you'll have to shut the engine off or I'll never get this thing filled."
2018 Avg 2.412
2019 Avg 2.255
2020 Avg 1.844 (fluke year due to Covid)
2021 Avg 2.82 (this included a trip to CA)
2022 Avg 3.554
Not bad! Arkansas usually one of the cheapest, today in Little Rock: $2.99, 5 hours ago according to GasBuddy.com.
Some states have much lower prices than us but ya take what ya get.
Thanks for all those updates!
Very strange - NYMEX Crude oil dropped to $76 this week, its lowest point in about 8 months - and while it bounced up slightly, its still in a strong down-trend.
Same for RBOB gasoline futures.
I wonder if its regional supply-chain in SoCal?
