Is stale news “news”.
I enjoyed basic, plentiful food, sheets and a bed, laundry service, claymores, grenades, M-203s and M-79s, M-72 LAWS, POW training and escape and evasion, night vision scopes, camping, M-60s, anti-mine training, foxholes, I loved the wooden barracks, enjoyed sneaking off base, good times.
I liked it enough that in later years when I joined the Guard I pushed very hard to get to go to basic again, but they don’t allow that, I also tried to get jump school again, but no to that as well.
You need to calm down with the childish graphics
Ukraine never invaded anybody, Ukraine never started a war
Russia illegally invaded a sovereign country, just like the Nazis did in 1939-45
so RUSSIA is the real Nazis!
The new recruits, when they can catch them, are being told to bring their own sleeping bags and first aid kits, but ask their girlfriemds and female relatives to send women’s tampons and pads. The tampons are pushed into bullet wounds where they swell and stop the bleeding, and the pads are good for massive bleeding areas. I didn’t see anything about heavy winter coats, but I guess the sleeping bags will substitute.
When my son was in high school Ranger ROTC my husband drove him and several other Rangers out to the Appalacian mountains in mid winter for a weekend campout. They dug a trench on a slight slope, covered it with canvas and slept there in their sleeping bags. Thsy built a fire at the lower end so the heat traveled up the tunnel. They took their boots off and kept them in the sleeping bags. The guy nearest my son rolled over at night and bonged him on the head with his boots. A good time was had by all. He is now retiring from about 25 years in Special Forces and previously in 82nd Airborne.
