Activists driven by false theories about election fraud are working to toss out tens of thousands of voter registrations and ballots in battleground states, part of a loosely coordinated campaign that is sowing distrust and threatening further turmoil as election officials prepare for the November midterms.
Groups in Georgia have challenged at least 65,000 voter registrations across eight counties, claiming to have evidence that voters’ addresses were incorrect. In Michigan, an activist group tried to challenge 22,000 ballots from voters who had requested absentee ballots for the state’s August primary. And in Texas, residents sent in 116 affidavits challenging the eligibility of more than 6,000 voters in Harris County, which is home to Houston and is the state’s largest county.
The recent wave of challenges have been filed by right-wing activists who believe conspiracy theories about fraud in the 2020 presidential election. They claim to be using state laws that allow people to question whether a voter is eligible. But so far, the vast majority of the complaints have been rejected, in many cases because election officials found the challenges were filed incorrectly, rife with bad information or based on flawed data analysis.
Republican-aligned groups have long pushed to aggressively cull the voter rolls, claiming that inaccurate registrations can lead to voter fraud — although examples of such fraud are exceptionally rare. Voting rights groups say the greater concern is inadvertently purging an eligible voter from the rolls.

” false theories about election fraud”
Yeah right.
I just got a mail in ballot order form from my state. It was mailed to my actual residential address...which,obviously,is good. However,on the form is the option to have the mail in ballot sent to another address. How can that be correct? Sounds like an invitation to voter fraud to me!
“Activists” — LOL. They aren’t used to conservative Republican “activists.”
We’ve all heard that word for 40 years and every single time it’s been a radical liberal group bent on destroying the traditional nuclear family, Christianity, and the USA.
They don’t like it when conservatives finally say “ENOUGH” and use their tactics against them.
Activists Flood Election Offices With Challenges

If there is nothing to hide
There’s no reason to worry then.
There is widespread, all states, evidence of fraud and dirty voter rolls , they know it, we know it, they know we know it ,
that’s why the hysteria of the cheating progs.
They know a blind man could find the fraud, they fear letting us prove it.
Culling voter rolls doesn’t keep any legitimate voter from voting. At the very worst, if done mistakenly, it means someone will have to re-register or cast a provisional ballot. Am I wrong on this?
Now, let’s look at the flip side of the coin.
Not culling the voter rolls makes it easier to fraudulently cast votes, right? For people who have died, or moved?
So, given the risk/reward, which is worse. Voters still get the vote, but fraudsters have a harder time committing fraud.
Yet, here is the NYT wringing their hands.
Can they just come out and say what they really mean; If you aint cheatin’, you aint tryin’
There is not election fraud. I know because the NY times says so. /sarc
I do not accept the premise the theories about election fraud are false.
Democrats have ti when their dead voters and illegal voters and fictional voters aren’t allowed to cast their votes. All those fraudulent voters have rights too.
“False”. “Unproven”. “Conspiracy theories”.
Your lips are moving, but all I hear is “blah, blah, blah”.
Sorry, NYT, but all fraud, misinformation, and rabble-rousing is coming from your sordid collection of low-IQ journalism majors. Your technical abilities existeth not. Your knowledge of history wouldn’t allow you to pass a 1900 era high school exam. We really don’t give much of a **** about anything you print. Go away and die quietly.
They are crapping themselves because the right is starting to get off their arse and do something. It’s usually the Soros funded mob that’s active.
You are absolutely right and I'm serving my 9th year in office as a precinct election judge, so I've been exposed to almost everything at this point.
Another propaganda screed disguised as news.
You could choose to change activisits with citizens and give the headline a whole new feel
” false theories about election fraud”
They just can’t help themselves.
I have long since reached the conclusion that anybody who uses the phrase of “false theories about election fraud” or “election denier” is someone who has no regard for our ability to have a say in our governance or our freedom and liberty. Those reprobates are openly promoting Voter Fraud and Ballot Manipulation.
Prove me wrong.
“They know a blind man could find the fraud, they fear letting us prove it.”
Bingo. Remember, it can’t have been more than 10-15 years ago, when the news would regularly have stories about “Mickey Mouse” and “Donald Duck” being registered to vote? I guess the news media were “driven by false theories about election fraud” back then, eh?
Texas, residents sent in 116 affidavits challenging the eligibility of more than 6,000 voters in Harris County
This is volunteers checking to see if the 10 “voters” registered at one address exist or if the address is even a residence. The County Clerk (Dem.- who would have thought?) has no interest in a valid voter roll.
True the vote!
