Unfortunately Levin was pushing this in his show today without any evidence, without refuting Biden's direct threat to end the Nordstream pipelines.
Very disappointing, especially when he preemptively shut down any calls to the contrary, I don't ever think I have heard him so resolutely opinionated without allowing any time for evidence that would confirm or disprove the just breaking news.

Projection. The terror regime in Russia (which has never cowered to use terrorism, and even--per defector Alexander Litinenko, who was poisoned with Polonium 210--trained Al Qaeda's Al Zawahiri) is in the midst of an existential crisis. If Putin loses the war, if Putin cannot force NATO to surrender, then his regime will collapse.
The Putinists on this forum have systematically lied to FReepers since before day 1. First, they lied that there would ever be an invasion. Then they promised swift defeat of Ukraine. They promised tens of thousands of dead Ukrainians, complete air superiority, more blown up HIMARs, tanks, drones, jets, than Ukraine ever had in stock. They promised victories, cities taken, promises of an "imminent cauldron" and a "pincer" from Izium closing in and sealing the fate of 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers, etc.
All LIES.
Now they expect us to believe that Russia has no reason to bomb these pipelines, when Nordstream 2 wasn't even operational, when Putin has threatened over and over again to "Freeze" Europe? Blowing up the pipelines now permits Russia to conduct terror attacks on western infrastructure. Just like how Putin took the time to SHELL his own alleged cities on Donestk and Luhansk--with cameras on showing the bloody "outgoing shells" were actually firing from Russian territory--before shelling Ukrainian cities.
Putin, like any old KGB, operates on the logic that a provocation is needed before he can murder willy nilly, something to throw the murderous swine on forums like Free Republic something to chew on, so they will celebrate what comes next on their own countries and people.

My fear in this is that this is a U.S. driven attack to provoke Putin to do something to the U.S. interests as an “October Surprise” - get the focus off of the election and the issues killing the dems in the polls and onto a “rally around the flag - we’ve been attacked!” vibe.
I have minimal faith and trust in the integrity of our federal government these days. Life is cheap to them. Ware is profitable to them on many levels. Power is the ultimate goal for them.
