That’s crazy, but I’m not shocked; while young people today have more certificates and diplomas than prior generations, there is no doubt in my mind that they are the least “learned” generation ever.
I’m not talking about bad work habits or political views or inability to change a tire; I’m talking about the lack of knowledge of everything in general. Worse, they don’t even realize it.
Book smart.

I agree and it’s more than a little ironic. Bizarre even. The amount of information now available through the internet is mind boggling and available with a click or two.
I was a carpenter in the ‘70s, ‘80s and into the ‘90s and fairly good at it. Learned a lot about other trades too. What I can learn now about my own trade on youtube and other websites could propel me to a far higher level in short order if I were still active in it.
That is just one example of many thousands of subjects where useful in depth knowledge is right at everyone’s fingertips. Literally.
