You need to understand Vlad is not interested in the western half, only the Ethnic Russian provinces. Had anyone taken the time to read his 24th Feb speech ( and others) his goal and intentions are clearly spelled out, liberating the Ukie controlled Russian areas. Pretty simple to me.
As for Peace, if the eastern Russian provinces are not attacked and bombed by the Ukies( since 2014), then Peace is at hand.
I doubt they’re all leaving due to fear of mobilization. More likely, many are running from fear of nuclear annihilation.

The Ukies have a hatred for Russians, the shelling of the Donbass by the Ukies since 2014 has the Russians having a hate for the Ukies…there is NO chance of reconciliation or co- habitation.
