The FBI Lied to a Judge So They Could Bust Open Thousands of Safety Deposit Boxes

It looks like the FBI is in for yet another scandal.

According to a new report from the LA Times, FBI agents busted into thousands of safety deposit boxes in California. After they rummaged through the private property of innocent people, it turns out they lied to a federal judge to get access to the boxes in the first place.

"The privacy invasion was vast when FBI agents drilled and pried their way into 1,400 safe-deposit boxes at the U.S. Private Vaults store in Beverly Hills. They rummaged through personal belongings of a jazz saxophone player, an interior designer, a retired doctor, a flooring contractor, two Century City lawyers and hundreds of others," the LA Times reports. "Agents took photos and videos of pay stubs, password lists, credit cards, a prenuptial agreement, immigration and vaccination records, bank statements, heirlooms and a will, court records show. In one box, agents found cremated human remains."

"Eighteen months later, newly unsealed court documents show that the FBI and U.S. attorney’s office in Los Angeles got their warrant for that raid by misleading the judge who approved it," the report continues. "They omitted from their warrant request a central part of the FBI’s plan: Permanent confiscation of everything inside every box containing at least $5,000 in cash or goods, a senior FBI agent recently testified."

Those who watch the FBI closely, particular the Bureau's political misconduct and persecution of conservatives, aren't surprised.

Afterall, it's the same FBI that lied to the FISA court in order to illegally surveil Trump campaign advisor Carter Page during the 2016 presidential election. Not to mention their most recent raid on Mar-a-Lago.

“I see nothing at all wrong, or even weird about storing stuff in safe deposit boxes run by a company that specializes in such things.”

THE “COMPANY” specialized in laundering drug money. “Clients” registered with fake names.

“This is SOP for the government. The only reason we are hearing about it is because this time they are screwing over a bunch of rich folk.”

Rich folk put their money into legitimate investments. Drug dealers hide their money under fake names.

“Another reason I’ve never had a safety deposit box...nor ever will.”

Not a safety deposit box. A drug money laundering company.

I don’t use it. So they can do what they want with it. Anybody dumb enough to use it.... Nor do I jump into burning fires. Things I know that can/will harm me I leave the hell alone.

So when does the fbi’s activity become a criminal activity?

Sound more like mafioso.

That must be one bizarre movie! But that scene really fit in with what’s going on today.

Years ago, a neighbor learned that once a person dies, the state prohibits access to a safe deposit box before the contents can be inventoried, except for a will, or burial plot deed. She very quickly put a safe in the wall at home and cancelled the safe deposit box. In this case the FIB just couldn’t wait until someone died to inventory the safe deposit boxes. The concept has just progressed, but the contempt for individual rights and privacy is openly manifest by our ruling class elites. It’s what they do.

The FBI is out of control. Who is going to bring them under control?

They need to call it something else because the FBI is one of the most corrupt organizations in D.C.

The judge should have asked how many boxes this warrant would cover and then IMMEDIATELY deny the warrant based on that it was too broad.

This is not just a failure (corruption) of the FBI, the judge failed too. The question is why.

Your neighbor is correct. The IRS wants to know what is in the safe deposit box in order to count it in the deceased estate so they can tax the total value of the estate. My mother died suddenly and one of the first things I did was go to the bank and empty the box and put some old newspapers in it.
